I saw it this past Friday. I would say, the action and the affects were GREAT, a thing the director is very good at arranging. Otherwise the plot of the movie was ok, yet a lil too predictable. Most of the main characters in the movie lived in the movie while everyone else around them perished. I'd recommend this movie if your big on seeing large scale disaster from a great view. You might not enjoy the story but the graphics and action are amazing.
Also, what's good about this movie, if you know a lil bit bout meteorlology and climatology, is that it is based around scientific theory of the ice age, and the equal balance of the climate that creates our weather system. Some movies like this, are made with far'fetched ideas that are completely impossible, like some aliens destroying the Earth by commandeering our weather system. But otherwise, it was a very good movie, for the graphics and the science. It's worth your ticket money, and is very very entertaining.

I read elsewhere that the whole spinoff on the weather in that movie is so far fetched it's unbelievable.....
...oh wait, never mind.

I may see it but, It will probably be just another chessy sci-fi movie like The Core which was terrible.

Yeah man, The Core was pretty dumb. I laughed (seriously) when the main captain dude got hit in the head with that flying piece of rock and died.

LMAO I remember that. I was cracking up so hard everyone was lookin @ me. But yea, you may think this was another movie like the Core. But, they don't actually do something ridiculous like go into the middle of the Earth with this scientifical worm that is experimental. They actually do nothing of the sort, I dont want to ruin it the rest for you. But i tell you, this movie is different in several and maybe many ways from the Core, and is more based on reality of what would really happen for a situation like this.

Dont be sorry, I like those movies too, but on a more realistic figure. The core, I thought was funny. It was a giant space ship like worm taht goes in the Earth. NOT POSSIBLE, because any types of metal would not be able to withstand such pressure and heat of the center of the Earth. Why do you think it's all molten? because it;'s too hot.
I would like to add about The Day After Tomorrow, There are a good number of funny spots during the movie.

I saw it on teh weekend. Really enjoyed it. Watching LA get fucked up by tornadoes = win.
Only disappointment was the wolves. Too CGI and just too much.
Roland Emmerich must hate New York. That's 3 movies now where he's fucked it up.

If you dislike scientific inaccuracies, do not see Contact. It's an insult to all Physicists and offensive to anyone who's even only taken minor courses in the subject.

I'm thinking of writing a weather movie in which partly cloudy skies plague the city of Lansing, Michigan.
