Just picked up some paint called Model Masters Metalizer. It comes in all sorts of metals and is absolutely awesome. Looks just like the real thing and has a great finish. Thumbs up for Model Masters.

I know! I use them regulary- very good stuff
The only problem they got is that it's hard to make masking over. Although you can use sealer but then you lose a bit of shine.

Yes the Stainles Steel Metalizer is a PERFECT match to a DeLorean, I used it on my award-winning Back to the Future DeLoreans and it was so good I couldn't believe it!

ironically enough Model Masters paint is made by none other then Testors. Basically its their top of the line paints and supplies.

Testors = ModelMaster
The only difference is packing.

hm...that seems kinda dumb then. Why package your paints differently? Plus why does everyone seem to complain about testors paint and like this model masters stuff?

The Testors 1/4 oz enamels are CRAP. But I like their 1/2 oz Model Masters acrylics, and the metalizers. I only use them, Tamiya, and Duplicolor sprays.

It's possible that Testors export their paint under different brand name - ModelMaster.
Many manufacturers do that. Why? Don't know.
Look at Honda - Acura in USA. Opel - Vaxhual. Nissan - Infinity.
I don't know about Testors/ModelMaster acrylic paint, but I know that Testors/ModelMaster enamels are one of the best paints.
Macdaddy4738: I hope I helped you to understand this dealer confusions.

The metalizers are perfect as a protective coat when you are puting on a nailpolish paintjob to. I tried that on a couple of occasions when I was experimenting with new technics.

As stated, MM = Testors...and their Metalizer lines are pretty good. No thinning needed, just shoot straight from the jar. I usually cut a new jar in half and fill the remaining volume with a correctly thinned clear semi-gloss mixture to help with masking over it. Spraying the semi-gloss with the color coat, as opposed to after it seems to help the paint retain it's original luster.

Why? Smart Marketing.
Premium products do behave differently, but the manufacturing cost is higher only by a bit. They give you the image of exclusivity to make people pay more.
Still, MM metalizer is a great line of product, and as useful as Alcrad II.

MM Metalizers are the only Testors paint I use. All other paints I use Tamiya. I use Stainless and Gunmetal more than the others.

True, MM metalizers are great. I use it regularly for all parts requiring metal colors. I prefer MM over Alclad II because of it smells much less toxic...
As far as I know, 'Model Master' is only a product line of Testors, not a different brand. In Europe, the paints are sold be Italeri (European importer for Testors?), even the label looks same.

Steffen

Alclad II - is this an enamel or acryl?
Heard a lot about Alclad II and I must try it :)

Alclad II is an enamel paint. There are more colors available than in MM. And it stinks...
