3" drop Is a camber kit needed?

I'm putting DropZone coilovers on my 88 civic hatch next week and lowering it to about 3". I'v heard most people say that anything more than 2" and you need a camber kit. I just wanting to know what everyone thought. I plan on driving it this way for a few months then putting air cans on it, so I dont want to spend another 150 or so on a camber kit if its only going to be used for a few months.

whats the point on getting coilovers now if ur gona change it later anyways?

heh I'm rolling 13" rims, complete set of tires is like 100 bucks. I got the coilover kit cheep and I want a little lower stance till I get the money for something else, then someone else will get a set of coilovers for cheep... never ending process..

DO NOT buy dropzone "coilover" kits...they may be cheap now but when they're busted or f*ck something up in a few months and you HAVE to buy something of better quality for more money than you spent on the dropzone "coilovers" in the first place your not gonna like it trust me...just buy the good stuff the first time...

Listen to jackasssi...do not go cheep with suspension...that's not a part of a car to cut ocsts on. You get what you pay for, and it's pay now or pay later for the most part. Going cheap on suspension can leave you with broken, blown, and poor qaulity parts, as well as a dangerous set-up that costs more to fix in the long run...do it right the first time...and if you can't afford it, wait until you can afford to do it right....yes...for definatly need a camber kit on a 3" drop, period. Also, as everyone said, don not get drop-zone, they are not good at all.
Take jackasssi and our advice on this one.

150 bucks for camber kit??? You mean like the cheapest non-real camber kit. Real camber kits run around 200$ front only.

the need for a camber kit depends on the car....
my 91 hatch had aerospeed coilovers with a 3" drop and had no camber issues at all...when that car got totaled and i put the same kit on my 90 hatch and the camber was way off...'
so that's why i said it depends on the car...but u'll find out when u lower it

How do you figure? sounds like you got ripped off. You can find an ingalls (very reputable brand, good quality) on ebay for around $120! and all the back really requires is some good automotive grade longer bolts, and some washers! Even still with the back you can get the ingslls front and back kit for arond $170 on ebay. How do you figrue those as being non-real? And as said above DO NOT get drop zone, you will regret it. But it is pretty cheap, you can get their kits for like $60. I wouldn't recomend it though!

For proper alignment after lowering a civic camber kits are required. Even with .25" drop because there is no factory camber adjustment. Dropping less than 1.5"-1.75" does not throw camber way out, tire wear will not be greatly affected. IMO camber kits are needed for 2" or more drop & for those looking for performance. An alignment other than stock settings can dramatically affect the way your car handles.

was throwing out a number, 1 time camber kit purchase would pay for itself in tires in no time.
