this morning I went to the store in my 97 geo metro, I started the car to leave and drove about 10 feet then it died and I had to get it towed back to the house. we removed the air filter and sprayed some cleaner on the carb and it ran for about 30 seconds and died...
perhaps a fuel filter??
if so, where might I find it, I cant see it anywhere.
any help is appreciated.

Fuel filter, fuel pump, out of gas, bad load of gas(w/water), fuel relay, fuel injector, etc. I would start with the fuel filter if it hadn't been changed in a while. It can be a little difficult to get out since it is buried among fuel lines and brake lines close to the left rear wheel.

A clogged PCV valve can cause a start and stall situation as well.

Check the under-hood fuses. Also, make sure the fuel pump comes on when you turn the key to the ON postition. Should click on, run for 2-3 seconds, then shut off.

check your distributor cap for cracks.. if its getting air in there it will cause a poor spark with your plugs and cause it to die...

ok... I changed the fuel filter, it started drove it to the gas station and got gas, drove it for a bit then it konked out on me again.
I replaced the cap&rotor because I knew it was bad.
it started and its running at the moment.... but it chugs every once and a while and will sometimes die out...
I checked the fuse and it seems to click when I turn the key then click again after a couple seconds... not sure if that is what you meant.
where is the pvc valve???
any other suggestions?

Sounds like it might be something like the ignition module, or problems with the pick-up coil or ignition coil....since it seems (from what you are describing) that it acts up when it is hot. Usually, these parts will just plain QUIT working, but I have seen them be intermittently faulty as well. Just my 2-cents. Oh....might also be fuel-pressure regulator??
