Noise from road/tires

I just bought a 1997 with 65000, driving in town is good, no noise, but on highway at 55 to 60 the tires are making loud noises like the big 4-ewheelers do!! it has goodyear tires,,maybe I should change tread design?? what do ya think? thanks

smooth running tires that are quiet are usually called touring tires, the word tour is often used in the tires name. sport tires have a more aggressive tread patterns and that results in the noise.235-60-16 are one of the largest passenger tire sizes used these days...a lot of surface contact going on here , well these cars came with real kick ass sound systems for a reason i guess..news
