Searching for a 96 GS Elipse engine. Need it not now, but yesterday. So if anyone knows where to find one close to Virginia Beach, VA, North Carolina, or Maryland please respond back. My baby blew yesterday and I was almost in tears. I'm DYING HERE!!!

Screw the GS... Go the extra mile... pull whatever cash you have... and go for the 4g63t... Im pretty sure they drop in smoothly and you will be much happier with the turbo model and the N/A or sell whats left of your car and get a gst/gsx... Stock they will be faster than your GS with whatever mods you had done to it... Unless you were running a 300,000 shot of nos... and since you most likely werent... go for the turbo...

Actually, that engine swap would take about $7000 to do. If you look at the 420a and the 4g63, the intakes sit on opposite sides which means you would have some rearranging to do.

Yeah duckydsp i guess your right... i never looked to see what the swap would cost... i just know many people have done them and didnt think they would be that expensive... But as for my advice on buying Gs-t or Gsx, that still stands... you will get so much more out of it... there is so much more to do to it... and it is a much better respected engine. The 420A is underpowered and serves the purpose of going from point A to point B. If your not in it for the power and racing purpose... Get your GS engine... But, If you are looking into doing any modding... Your wasting you time and $ on a 420A, and should go turbo...

:nono: I would argue with ^^^, but insted I'll just say this, don't underestimate the 420a. even though its not turbo doesn't mean it can't put out impressive numbers with the right mods. you mod what you can afford to mod. if not then have fun eating balonga on palm the rest of your life.

I have a friend who has two 420a's and one is installed in the car...he wants 2500 for the car and the other engine. Would that help?

Oh and one of the engines was rebuilt and ported so its maybe like a 2.1 or 2.2 but either way it is built pretty much for a turbo or nitrous set up.

What's up Fellas :smokin:
Im new here as you can see. I just bought a 96 Spyder Convertible and im still getting used to it. It's slower than the Prelude Im used to driving but that's ok. I'm interested in boosting up from 140hps to something around 210 if possible. Im a nOOB of course so have some patients with me when it comes to terms. I've been looking into these topics and doing research on the Team 2GNT.
When i bought the car it already came with a exust mod. Not a bad start but what do I get next?? :uhoh:

There is no way you're going to hit 210hp with just bolt ons. You will need to build yourself a custom turbo.
If you were to get an intake, exhaust, headers, cams, etc. You would still be at around 155 hp - 160 hp. Nothing really.

Ok PrO..
Since im a nOOb and I dont really know anything about hooking up cars, I might as well pay someone to do it for me. How much do you think it would cost for a custom turbo? 7k? 5k? Ball park figure.. :smokin:

IF you find a cheap turbo kit for about 2k maybe a bit more. Take it to a shop that does turbo/superchagers whatever and ask them it shouldnt be more then 1k for the install with the fuel injectors and all the full setup 1k should be about it aspecially if you buy a bolt on turbo kit. so maybe 3-4k TOTAL if you did it yourself out of home depot pipes and everything you can do it for under 2k. Cause a turbo its mostly just pipes and stuff.

Yeah dude i hear hahn turbos are the best for the nonturbo 420A. Special not when you do a turbo mod on a non turbo car you put a lot of stress on the head bolts if your runnin like 15 or 20 PSI you'll need better head bolts. But any way this is what your looking for:
