if your wondering about the tape...it helps me keep the seperate pieces iin their subframes. Plus i can see the basic shape of the car in the beginning. I havent started then engine yet so thats why its not pictured.

Idea :thinkerg:
Replica of Pearl Harbor one. It would be a bit boring maybe. But making of a exact replica is quite a challenge.

no custom body work as of yet...im not advanced enough to do that..plus i dont see anything that needs changing. I am however shaving the entire thing and leaving the side windows off. Its got a top too but for now is screwed. Its kinda mangled where i cut it off the tree for some reason and the top doesnt fit quite right. In not really intrested in a replica right now. Im thinking of going with a deep candy purple for it with a white interior.

Looks good, I like the paint job *sarcasm*. The tape really gives it that elegant feel *sarcasm*.

i was low on paint and primer for my Civic. I rememberd a hobby shop that was like 10 min from my house. I drove around for a half hour looking for it but finally found it. I got it there for 14 bucks. They had a pretty good selection too. Supplies were pretty low though. Only Testors paint :disappoin

Boyd Coddingtons paints are made by Testors and are called the Boyd Series.

i think i messed it up pretty bad lol. I puttied the rear fenders to the body to try and get a clean no lined body but i think i used too much putty. What grit sandpaper should i use?
mike@af
06-07-2004, 06:34 PM
220 grit for the rough sand to get most of the putty off, then go to 320.

its basically trashed now. I tore the rear fenders off in an attempt to fix the damage i had done with the putty. The plastic under the fenders was basically goop so now they arent smooth or anything anymore. What do i do to fix this? I cant putty worth crap so it screwed it all up.

THANK YOU MR2_LANCER!!! YOU SAVED MY CAR!! The fenders look great now..nice and smooth even without sanding!! Its gonna look good.
Ive decided now to get rid of the chrome bumpers. It looks cleaner without them. I may get rid of the running boards on the side too but that will require a little work.

a little update. Putty is sanded a bit...nothing much it still needs more work.
http://img72.photobucket.com/albums/v220/Macdaddy4738/ford2.jpg
the small ridges on the small square parts there on the front are gone. I glued some styrene on the back of the body and am going to putty it soon.
