1992 Explorer Clutch replacement method

Is it easier to replace the clutch by pulling the transfer case/transmission, or by pulling the motor?

Transfer case / transmission. There isn't room to do it the other way. BTW, you may want to pull transfer case first and then the tranny. It's more work but easier.
