I have seen these apexi AFC/vtec controllers. Are they really all that if you have basically a stock 3L V6 engine on an accord ?

waste of money for you, in my opinion. wait until you have done more to your engine, to the point where fuel and spark timing really need to be changed, such as new cams with higher compression pistons. your money would be better spent on the beginnings like I/H/E.

that's kinda what I figured ...... I wanna do the CAI, maybe the header and exhaust later. It seemed like a tuner thing for a built up engine, but it would be nice to adjust when the vtec kicks in.

i tend to agree with everyone else when they say that honda usually does a pretty good job when tuning their motors. changing the x-over point would probably get you nothing, and may even cause you to lose hp, especially if you arent tuning it on a dyno.

If you lower vtec engagement on a stock engine you will lose more than just a few hp. Your engine won't be spinning fast enough to take advantage of the increased air and fuel from the higher cam lift, and from what I've heard from experience the engine will actually bog for a second.
