sentra SER spec V vs VR6 jetta

both are about the same hp , and have alot of torque for their class ... who do yall think would pull a win ... 1/4 mile that is ...

are they both stock?
it makes a difference on the years...

VR6 = 99 vs 01 spec v , if they werent stock then i would have said something about mods ...

ok, there is no 01 SE-R spec-v. they came out in 02 with the new maxima's and altima's. the Se-R would hand the VR6 it's ass because it weighs 250 lbs less but makes almost identical specifications as far as HP a TQ. with the exception of 1 ft/lb of tq in favor of the jetta.

so, why wouldn't the VR6 have the same problem? they make almost the same torque. a vr6 would get spanked.

the problem thats on the spec v is that the two half shafts off the front diff are not the same, so one side gets more torque than the other.

on the vr6, the half shafts are equal.

in the 1/4 mile I think the Spec V would win if launched correctly...

the Helical diffrencial helps balance out whatever torque inbalance there is b/c of the shafts.

But I think the VR6 would pull harder in the top end (if it's a newer one) Since the spec v really REALLY REALLY runs out of power after 5500 rpm...

But the Spec V is overall the more fun car to drive :)

i just remembered, check out this months SCC mag and tell me who spanked a SVT focuz, SRT-4 neon, mazdaspeed protege, Si civic, and some other gay crap! 1st place was the TRD celica, and yes, the SE-R S-tuned was 2nd! the comments said that if the SE-R had the brembo brakes it would have most likely whooped the celica. :grinno: i bet money a VR-6 wouldnt even be close to this...

WOW YOU DRIVE A B13? I drive a 91 MR2 turbo. I dont even own a jetta or any VW but I can assure you that I would own one way before a sentra.LOL My interior doesnt help me smoke any sentra. The 2.0 tuned turbo engine sitting behind my head helps me do that. But I have to admit, my interior is alot better than any nissan Ive seen.

anyway, you know the time attack they had up in cali that was on the august 2004 SCC mag? welll the fastest time, which im soo proud to say, was the NISSAN skyline with a 1:54.2 lap time. i bet a Skyline GT-R has nice interior, way better than your lil Mr. 2. the POS B13 was 5th place with a 1:59.3.:) cant mess with it. and you wanna hear what happened to the MR2? lol. it broke down:( you migth want to pick up this mag and read how the Sentra just beats on the NSX! and how it also hangs with ferraris, and beats evos, STi's. compare your speed monster to a Sunny GTi-R its a better comparison. both have 12ish year old tech, and have 2.0l turbo engines.
and that sixth speed migth be the reason those fuckin QR25's will last for ever! now you dont have to be at 3k rpm's while goin 70mph on the freeway. :naughty:
