Hey all. I'm new to these forums and just bought a 2k1 chevy cavalier. I took my car into the shop already for a fuel sending unit to be replaced. But now when I start driving, my gas gauge goes down. pretty normal, but when I put it in park, on a flat surface, it goes up. not much I mind you but enought to notice. Am I just paranoid? Also, I've only been getting 220 miles on my car per tank. is this normal? Thanks in advance.

do you have a "lead foot"? you might be calculating your fuel wrong. what you should do is fill up you tank, put your tripomiter to 000 then drive it, fill the tank all the way up again and then do the math. and about the gas gauge. that happens in my GA. its probably just from the fuel sloshing around then when it settles on a flat area it reads more/less.

Because they say people who do use more gas.. I get almost 380 in my 96 Contour.. It's a 4cyl. I got around 300 in my old Contour SVT, It was a V6. And my 4cyl Cavy get's close to 390.

I do take off fast, I'll be the first to admit it. I also usually get up to speed quickly and then back off to just cruise, which isn't very long because I'm in southern cali, so I don't really speed. I don't think I have a lead foot, but it could be the take off. I'll try to slow down on take off. thanks. :)
