Just wondering for how many quarts of rear axle fluid you need when changing your rear axle/differential fluid. I have not yet changed it and am unable to find the amount in the manual. Any help would be greatly appreciated... It looks to me like it would be just over a quart... but let me know. Thanks guys.

Autozones website autozone.com list fluid capacities/types for most vehicles. Your owner's manual should have it too. You can go to GM's website for online owners manuals.

I think that you'll find it to be just about 5 pints (or 2 1/2 quarts)

Hope this helps.

It also depends on which model rear diff you have.. My 2500HD with the G80 takes 4 quarts. It also requires synthetic 75W90, GL-5 (I use Mobil-1). The GM synthetic ("Grape Juice") is $26/quart vs M-1 for 6.99 at Autozone. :)
