GSR Header on LS?

Hey me and my buddy are having a disagreement. He says that if you put a GSR 4-1 DC header on a LS then it will make it quicker than if I put a LS 4-1 DC header because it is bigger. I disagree. Can someone help us out with this one.

first off a gsr headder probably wont fit unless you do some fabrication or buy a kit that pushes the frame out. and second the headder for the ls, is designed for the ls. It is cut and bored out according to the head and it is nuts to think that putting a headder designed for a gsr can put out anything more than the headder designed for the ls.

hope i help,
dave

Thanks Dave, I hope that will shut him up. :)

the gsr DC header will probably bolt onto the LS motor. the only problem might be trying to bolt it onto the catalytic converter. you will need to modify the cat in order for it to fit. I dont know how the dc headers are designed for the LS and the GSR but i doubt there is any size difference in the pipe's diameter. the only difference is the fitment from one car to the other.

You're right boosted, the LS and GSR DC headers both have 2" collectors, and they'll both bolt up the same to the motor, but the catalytic converter end is different. You'll get no more performance choosing one over the other. Same part, different fitment

i was told that it was a 4-1 headder, and i know for a fact that it wont bolt on because on the ls, there is no room. at least on the g2's. trust me, they make a special part that you need to move the frame back.....and i also know that the gsr head is very much the same as the ls head except it has been modified to use vtec....well that and the oil flow is diff.....anyway, there is no way that you get any more flow out of a gsr headder even if you can get it to fit. dc ports them to match the head. and thats that....
i could be wrong but im 99 percent sure that im right
dont want to piss anyone off, but i have been doing this for a while

Oh, I assumed that the LS and GSR were both 3rd gen. In that case, it'll both up to the motor, but it might have some fitment issues with the chassis like you said.

all im saying is that i would stick to parts designed for the car, if by chance that it does fit, and it might. i dont know if i would want to mess with any potential problems. for example, with dealing with exhaust flow so close to the engine, there is a big possibility that the gsr headder might fuck up the exhaust valves...not good.....but just a friendly conversation
later
