valve adjustments

Well i just got my new cams in and the assholes at the ONLY shop we have in town didn't have the exact valve specs for the new cam and they can't do it till next tuesday. Well anyways i was wondering if it is bad for the motor to be run with the incorrect valve settings, cause i do need to get to work. The guy at the shop said it wouldn't hurt anything at all, it would just have a little bit of valve noise. Also i have a race set up this saturday and i'm not sure if i should call it off or not, suggestions?

as long as they left them loose, you should be fine. your motor will have a little less power than it will once they are lashed to spec, but you arent going to cause any damage.

use that as a guide to help you adjust your valves yourself... its easy..... what motor do you have, i may be able to list your vavle spec.
