ive done a little thinking. perhaps the problem we are currently having with mods, is because they are not camaro guys, they arent from this forum, and they dont know the people here. they dont know who is trouble, and what is a little harmless fun. so they react in what they see as strict enforcement of the policy, even if its uncalled for. no one can really fault them for that (except me cuz im an ass, and i dont work well under authority ;) ) but maybe what we need is a camaro moderator??? anyone have any nominations. i personally suggest the following.

Myself, 89IROC&RS - cuz im a self centered ego maniac ;)

92RS - he may still think 305's are hot engines, but he can still come around, and he knows alot, is patient, level headed, and great at helping people with technical problems.

there are a few others who are probly suited to the job, but the two of us have been here the longest, and probly are the best suited for the job in my opinion. but let the nominations fly, i honestly see this as the best way to handle this. a camaro mod to handle the camaro forum, its been too long in coming. i say we make it happen. i think thats fair. that way the mods who have shown up who dont really understand whats going on, dont have to waist their time in here, and can handle their own buisness elsewhere.

I agree.. And there would be nobody better to moderate this Camaro forum..

A camaro mod is deffinitly needed, but it also needs to be someone who is aware of the greater AF community. Im afraid that anyone who only posts in here isn't really what is being looked for.
AF is an Automotiveforum, not a camaro forum :)


And of course theres no garuntee that anyone nomintated will be made a mod, the decision rests soley with Igor, and we have very little say in it. (he's prone to apointing mods at random, often with out even telling them thier now a mod).



and the 305 is a great engine!
My ex-bourder had one in an old Holden Premier. It was extremly well built, head work and cam, plus internals that all worked in perfect harmony with each other. Despite the cars weight, and the old auto 350 transmission that was totaly rooted it was a bloody quick car. (I never got to drive it though)

second, i finally found out what your problem is moppie, you like 305 cid V8's, *tsk tsk* lol, and yeah, i know that just cuz we nominate someone dosnt make it so, but i was just brainstorming, ya know, kinda just getting the ball rolling. ill email Igor about it later with a list of names when we work it up. but i do see the need for someone who has an AF familiarity, however i dont understand the need to post in other forums. so long as the general rules are enforced, they apply everywhere, i think that this case in particular shows that mods in a forum they are unfamilar with can cause problems, agreed??? but i suppose if at some point i were seriously looked at as a mod, i could make the effort to look in on other forums. say.. firebirds??? corvettes???? I think 89IROC&RS & ridge runner would be awesome mods but I also think they need to do some 4th Gen F-bodys spec's cramming so they can represent All F-body's, JK

Would the potential mod wanna be, be able to build a FAQ about the camaro?
Something detailing all the differnt models made, the differnt generations and something about basic mods to make them faster, and basic problems that occur and how to fix them?

I think everyone is already confident in the knowledge of Chevy That 89IROC&RS & ridge runner have. I have talked engine, tranny's and rear ends with both of them and have learned something I didn't know.

I was thinking of something that could be stuck at the top of the forum. Something for new members and people curious about camaros to have a read through.

I for example know next to nothing about them, but then Iv only seen about 20 in my whole life, out of prehaps a 100 or so in the country.

Yeah but the only problem with that is most people that enter the Camaro forum are people who are already familiar with these car's it would be like going into a Stanza forum when I could care less about the Stanza and don't have any interest in it. Besides the Camaro ,Firebird's, Impalla's, Vettes and Mustangs have a huge following and a million sites that will give you spec's and year to year changes at one mouse click. The cool thing about this forum is what it already was just car owner's giving advise on how to fix, improve and talking stats as well as sharing fun story's and as has been mentioned a thousand times before, people should do research first and then talk car's , not the opposite

Well I personally think we need a camaro mod, someone who is knowledgable in camaros such as 89Iroc&Rs and RidgeRunner. Both of those guys would make great mods. I have respect for both those guys already so when a problem like what has occured comes along it would be easier for me to accept it from one of them instead of someone who we haven't seen in here before. Also would ya let me know when my banment is up so I can get back to using my real name or am I gonna have to keep commin back in here like this?..........LOL

Nope only Igor can ban a mod.

On appointing a mod note, I support it, in fact I have asked Igor in the past to appoint a new mod in here (Chevrolet) since I am no longer active in here. I have been the Chevrolet mod for 2 years I just no longer have the time to hang out in here, I no longer work for GM, and I no longer have my F-Body even though it was a Pontiac I could still relate with you guys.
