hey guys...i just recently talked to a dealer about some subs. the JL's and the Diamond Audio.

I was ready to go with the JL w3's, then he told me that Diamond Audio cm3 was made to compete with the w3 and actually sounds a lot better.

i'm looking at 2 tens to put in my 91 crx with a custom box.

what do you guys think is better?

I have been driving thunping CRXs since 1992 including one setup which blew out the rear hatch window... twice, I will never again use another sub besides JL. Quality of craftsmanship quality of sound and longevity all in one package. Get the JLs feed them well and you will be a happy happy man.

i actually own 2 12" CM3's and I can tell you, they will outdo the W3's all day, and they are generally priced less, i paid 140 each for the CM3's, and couldn't be happier. Though JL is good quality, they are overpriced.

how reliable are the diamond audio's?...their are a lot cheaper than the JL's and would save me a lot of money. i want something that will not wear out on me...the way i bump my systems, man..
i also want something that will set off car alarms when i pass by. the two 10's i have in my integra does that right now with a slot ported box.

put 2 10" (or better yet 12") cm3's in a slot port box matched up with a 500d. no argument, its gonna be setting off alarms i promise.

i have never heard of a diamond having to be returned cause it was faulty, and they can take a hell of a lot more than they are rated at, so i dont see you having any problems.

I dont have longevity experience with DIamond but the 12w6 in my car is 4 years old and is still flawless.

I'm trying not to be smart about this, but subs don't "put out" wattage/power. Amplifiers produce the sub is just resistence in the circuit. I sell diamond audio, and i have combined 3 cm3 12" w/ a us amps de1000 they were vicious. THe surrounds are thicker than that of a w3. I have never used an m6 sub, but i have installed a tdx12" w/an autotek sx1200wrms@1ohm in a jeep grand cherokee. I have not heard from either customer in a while. Which means one thing nothings wrong...

I guess what it comes down to is your not gonna go wrong either way... use your ear and decide which you like better. Or be like my woman and say.... "oh that one is prettier!" and pick it.

m6's are even more badass than CM3's, however they take a lot more power to run at full-potential, therefore costing you more in the long run.

do you guys think that two 12" cm3's or two 10" m6's might blow out the rear hatch window on my crx?
i will definely be running them on amps that will give them all the power they need to go all out.

one more question...what 2 ways would sound good with these subs?

I have only been able to remove a CRX rear window using audio assistance with a minimum of 4 12" subs... but that was 10 years ago so maybe its possible with less now. (4 Altec Lanzing 12" kevlar cone subs... back in tha day that was crazy)
