Electrical problems (99 Cherokee)

I had a short on my radio which blew out the fuses. I replaced the 15amp and checked all others. The engine light came on and the A/C does not work now. Also the cooling fan does not turn on. I went by Auto Zone and the code proved to be 1491 (Coolant fan relay). I replaced that and the A/C relay and the problems still exist. I believe there is a fusable link but cannot locate one from the fuse box to the PDC. Any advice out there? This is worrying the mess out of me.

The coolant fan is the electrical fan. I read thru the past posts and might try and locate the switch on the fan itself and see if that is the issue. I just cannot figure out how the electric fan is connected to the A/C. If they are both not working it has to be some common issue.

This appears to be a consistent problem with this model year. I have a 1999 Cherokee, and if I use the trailer plug, I short out a transmission sensor and the radiator fan relay (1491). I replaced the cooling fan relay, but to no avail. My A/C stopped working and the transmission doesn't down shift properly. Last time this happened it was a four hundred dollar repair and apparently the source of the problem remains unaddressed.

I found out that the manual and the haynes manual does not show the correct names for the fuses on the inside. The manuals do not show that there is a 10 amp fuse that runs the ac, transmission and keeps the engine light from coming on. It is on the left side (engine side) about half way down. there should only be 1 empty slot, so check all those fuses, it cost me 120.00 for that 10 amp just because the manuals were jacked up. Jay
