After you have been modeling for years you begin to notice the "not-so-great" quality.

my favorite is the one i can afford and that has the cars i like. I like a challenge, and i don't mind bitching about the quality of a model, makes the hobby more interesting.

Yeah,I've already noticed it,on my F-100 nether the hood or the doors line up right and I've found the plastic is very weak :disappoin But still good for beginners.

Tamiya and Hasegawa.

Not only for quality, they're the only ones that really cater to my preferred subject.

yeah i used to use mainly revell but then i found tamiya. revell is just about horrible. the only thing about tamiya is that its expensive. i was going to buy a Ferrari 360 until i saw that it was $40 plus. ouch.

The old MPC kits are my favorites. AMT acquired MPC in the 1980's and have since reissued many of the old MPC kits.

But seriously, I like 'em all!!! :bigthumb:

Right now, Hasegawa & Fujimi, because of the Lambo kits comin' our way!

But I must admit Fujimi gave me the best fun! I'm Enthusiast Series addicted!

Starting to be Tamiya. After so many years of revell im like screw it and i got a few tamiya kits to make. So much better to build and the fitment is great.

I'd have to agree. I go by the subject of what I'm interested in at the moment.I grew up on MPC and AMT. Hell, they can't be all that bad or else I would've stopped building by now; it's been about 27 years and I'm still building so brand names don't matter much anymore. Unless it's Nichimo!! They suck something awfull!!! :2cents:

Tamiya for models and some wheels
Aoshima for wheels and some models
Fujimi for decals and occasional wheel set

MPC, no doubt about it, best subjects, classic kits

I also like Johan, I'm into AMC's right now and they where basically the ones that did kits of AMC cars (just picked up the model deal for my life, a rare Johan snap 73-74 AMC Javelin AMX for 10 bucks MIB,('ve seen it sold for 50-60 on Ebay)

The Tamiya, Revell, Fujimi, AMT........................................

this is how i see it:
fujimi- excellent selection, poor quality
Tamiya-ok selection, excellent quality
Aoshima -very good selection, very good quality

so id have to say Aoshima!! :evillol:

Revell has always given me the best bang for my buck. Tamiya's subject matter is very hit or miss for me (tell me again why they kitted a Jeep Grand Cherokee) and the content doesn't always justify the cost. Seriously, their road car kits like their S13 Silvia or their Ballade CRX do NOT justify a 4-8 dollar premium over a similar Revell kit.

But if i like something built by another brand i'll still buy it if i want it bad enough

Aoshima, I've always liked their kits and none have ever gave me problems on fitment.

If I'm only to choose from the quality of the kits Tamiya is the way to go, but I have to say that it's the subject who's important not the manufacturer. But in the end I buy mostly Tamiya as they have what I'm looking for most of the time and they kind of fall together by them selfs without to much fuss and fiddling.

Tamiya, Aoshima and AMT in that order for me.
I have to say that I have had a few Revell kits for spares and bit's n bobs and for the modeler who is not afraid of moding bits and faffing with parts until they fit, they are good value. I did notice that on the smaller parts the quality of the plastic was much weaker than the likes of Tamiya.

Bandai, hands down. All others, Tamiya included, will be quaking in their little booties the day Bandai decides to put out a car model...

Too bad I don't build giant cartoon robots more often... :dunno:

The only kits i have made so far have been tamiya and revell, tamiya wins it for my favourite because i love their range of kits available, especially the Le Mans and DTM kits, though i'm hoping to try a hasegawa kit soon.
