You'd be surprised. My friend is 18 and bought an Evo. Of course, he's already selling it after three months.

regardless, the thread title and question aren't quite the same.
you want max power? or max speed?
not necessarily the same.
top speed, 1/4 mile speeds/et?
sorry, but at 17, i don't know that you're ready to deal with something like what happened to the option2 350z at 200+mph...
for the record, it was a jun modded car, pushing 700+hp, and hit over 200mph before shooting a rod out of the block and rolling. hard.

i'm pretty sure that the max speed for a stock 350z is speed limited at 153 or around there

depends on your definition of REALLY MODDED OUT. i say about 30k and a tow truck to pull you out of the car or ditch you just ran into because the back-end slid out on you, while at half-throttle and you over-compensated do to lack of experience.

no 17 year old needs to be driving a 350z...it is a serious accident waiting to happen...(not trying to offend anyone)

there is always exceptions....but driving a stock 350z is alot different from driving a 350z with a lot of money sunk into the engine. a 13 sec or less car is not what i would call a good car to learn how to drive on.

my mate has a tuning company and i drove his 350z (tuned) around a track and lost control an spun it into a barrier it cost £5,000 to repair the body damage including repairing the body kit so i really wouldn't reccomend modifying a car if you're only 17 like the others say it's an accident waiting to happen

any sports car with over 280 hp is not an ideal car to learn on as everyone else has stated. but what makes this scenario even worse is that the car is RWD, much harder to recover if u do lose control, and the fact that the 350z will be modded, well......your asking for trouble!

im 18 and have a 350z stock, let me tell ya, i neither have the money to mod my car out nor do i want to. i have driven a lamborguini mercialago (however you spell it) many times at high speeds and i have never even came close to losing control (my grandad lets me drive his lamurguini sometimes lol). i guess i dont have a point...just getting into the discussion... :)

the one i crashed was twin turbo with about 800bhp and i drove a stock one bofore on the same track and when you push it around the corners even if you brake hard and turn nose down you still risk losing control with rwd you're really likely to lose the back end and that's the end of your Z, and you don't want that do you now ? (i think we all know the answer to that) and how the hell did you afford a 350z at 17 ? they're £30,000 in the uk and a 17 yr old would never get insured in one (especially not if you tune it)

You all act like a 18 year old cant afford a nice car ... or handle it? im 18 and work part time ..living at home and goin to college... i drive a 2000 trans am Ws6.. with ls6 heads, cams, slp lip and air box and borla exhaust and slp headers with electronic cutouts.. one of my best friends just bought a STi and the other drives a type S rsx.. we all pay for these cars ourselves and insurance... u act like the 350 z is o so powerful that no mortal other then yourselves could handle it.. as long as u dont act like a dick i think a 17 year old could handle it seeing how it does have Tc and or the vehicle dynamic control ... so can u stop ur flaming it makes everythread go downhill

dude..chill out...the last significant post in the this thread was a month ago. no one is saying that 18 year olds cant handle power. they were just saying that its not likely that a 18 year old is responsible enough to handle an 12 second car. yes there are 18 year olds out there that can handle the power. good job to them. but in most cases, the 18 year old driver has only had 2 years of driving experience. i wouldnt say that is enough experience to go auto crossing in an 12 second car. as for you and your buddies affording expensive and fast cars at only 18 years of age. GREAT JOB TO YA..im glad you found a loop hole where you can make tons of money without a having a college degree. next time you jump in a post that has been dormant for a while atleast talk like you got some sense. talk about flaming.

Don't most ppl and race car drivers for that matter start with a less powerful car then move up to the faster stuff as there skills progress? So why would you start with an STi or a Z. I would like to know what your insurance is for a 18yo to have a sports car.

???LOOPHOLE??? There is no loop hole... I work construction doing industrial tile, live in the Bay Area(San Francisco, CA) and am going to college part time...
It is very possible to afford a car such as this... I just recently bought a G35 and am about to start modding it out :smokin:
BTW what is the max speed? I dont think that question was ever answered

ok sorry...not exactly a loophole but most 18 year-olds dont land jobs that pay well enough to own a $30,000 car. you have to agree with me?
also, max speed varies. i have heard 145-160 mph
