Rotor needs turned

Anyone found a solution to the rotors needing turned all too often to fix the braking jitters? Best pads for replacement? My Explorer rotors needed turning after I had it only 12k miles. Then again at about 20k. I've put up with the damned things since then hoping to find a better solution. I've never had a vehicle in my life that needed it's rotors turned/replaced that often. Any wisdom out there to share?

Check what the brake pads are made of. Raybestos Brute creates too much heat and the rotors warps. Try using the Raybestos PGP pads, they're also cheaper. I also tried Wagner Pads and got good life out of them and did not have warping problems. Bendix didn't seem to last too long for me. I assume that you had set the preload for your bearings.

Been looking into pfc carbon metalic pads. Have any experience with them? I've only had it done by the dealer under warranty, but this next time I'm doing the brakes myself. Who knows what those clowns do with your vehicle when it's in the shop  Anyone tried one of the aftermarket rotors with cooling hole designs? I've read that some have had good luck turning a warped rotor due to fact that once it's been heated and supposedly tempured even further, the metal then has settled down and doesn't warp any more. Any truth in that?
