I flipped my brand NEW soft-top jeep wrangler off a cliff doing 97MPH..

Hit the concrete gaurd rail and launched straight up hit a tree and flipped front to back 3X, until I hit the bottom and landed in a travein. Had my dog with me.

Worst I have been in?

I got rear ended, going about 15mph.

That being said, the next time I go out, I am going to be broadsided by a semi...

hmmm not sure its a wreck since nothing actually got wrecked... but I had my gs-r on its side in a ditch once after going 70 on an icy back road. lost control hit ditch, car slid onto its side and then slid about fifty feet on its side till it stopped. I managed to get out of the drivers side door and check things out, car somehow was still idleing so i shut it off and called my parents (I was leaving their house to go back to my apartment at like 1 in the morning when it happened) they sent my cousin over with his truck to pull me out. once I got pulled out I gave her a quick test drive and was on my way with nothing more than a cracked rear splash gaurd. talk about lucky.

Personally the only accidents I have ever had have involved endangered species of animal. However my brother hit a rock wall in my (former) '88 Firebird doing 160 Kmh going uphill and rolled it. The glass tee tops shattered and no one was wearing seat belts. Somehow nobody (there were three other passengers in the vehicle) was injured, except for a relatively minor finger injury to one of the passengers. My brother told me that when the car rolled, all he remembered was darkness, then the whole interior of the car being illuminated by sparks, then he passed out. When paramedics arrived on the scene they immediately grabbed the body bags, not expecting to find anyone alive, however a groan alerted them of their misjudgement. One of the front wheels was torn from the car and was later found hundreds of feet from the wreck. When I visited my vehicle in the towing yard the next morning I noticed that the roof was crushed to the dashboard and that there were pools of metal that had melted due to the friction and had solidified again. On the upside I got 7K for it from insurance because I had swapped in a 3.4L motor.

Maybe she was changing her backstreet boys cd.

One time, I was doing 160 with a semi when it flipped. When I tried to get out, an airplane crashed on me.

Luckily, I got out of the wreck unharmed. When they were driving me to the hospital, the ambulance rolled off a cliff and we fell into a pool of sharks.

Only a minor rear-ender when I was pretty young... Damaged but repaired.

However I did get hit by a car... About 25 MPH. Not too fast and I only broke my arm. God I was a stupid kid. I could of been killed so easy... If it hadn't have been a small transit van...

Worst accident I was in was when I was in Germany. My friend was driver at the time. As most of you all know Europe is known for it's cobblestone roads. My friend and I were driving home one day and it had just got done raining. The road was the usual pavement type so no problem he slowed down a little to compensate for the road conditions. As we are going into a turn we see the road change from pavement to cobblestone in the middle of the turn. My friend tries to slow down more and pumps the brakes. As he does we lose traction and start to slide sideways. The car drops off the side of the road and begins to roll over. As the world suddenly goes into slow motion I watch the ground and shy exchange places a few times. We end up in some farmer's field upside down. My vision was a little foggy from being tossed around like a rag doll. Suddenly I notice the smell of gas. My friend and I look at each other and said our favorite vulgarity and try ro get out of the car as quick as possible. It's hasn't dawned on me that the car is upside so I undo my seat belt. I smack my head on the roof of the car as I drop from my seat. My friend and I crawl out of the car and try to run away from the car incase it explodes.
The only injuries to me were a banged up knee and shoulder and a mild concussion (Hmm I wonder how that happened..) My friend had a cut on his arm and nothing else. I have to say this the Germans definity know how to build a car.

Deer are imfamous for doing stange things to cars when you hit one. I saw a Datsun 280 launch one into the air. The deer destroyed the 280 and then the deer ran off. Damn northern deer. I was behind the 280 and almost crashed into it.

A buddy of mine who's a hunter hit a deer on his way into work. He gets out and knocks the crap out of the deer with a bat and puts in the back of the truck and takes it back home then puts it in the freezer whole. At lunch time he gets a frantic call from his wife telling him that the deer got out of the freezer and was tearing up the house. He looked at me and said "I knew I should of shot Bambi's ass." I was laughing so hard I fell out of my chair and rolled on the floor

Being that I work in auto claims at State Farm, I see a ton of bad accidents. The worst was a drunk and high 17 YO girl in a stolen sunfire. Hit a tree at 70+, her feet and half her calves were still in the car by the pedels, torn off. Lost her head about 75 feet away from the rest of the bosy. Car became a part of the tree.

Personally nothing major though. After working here, I drive a lot slower.

GM full size trucks are computer limited to 97 mph. If you flipped a Jeep at that speed (let alone off of a cliff) you would be dead. :disappoin I've never been in a bad wreck knock on wood. I've seen horendous ones though, the worst being those on the autobahn.

my worst would be on a bike on the way back from school. i made eye contact with a driver and he said i could go and he accidentay hit the wrong pedal and hit the gas instead of the brake and hit me with a camaro at 10 mph.

Nothing hurt. Oh yeah, I almost hit a deer while on permit... barely saw it coming...

friend of mine was floating down the highway and this dude cut him off, so he hits the breaks and the drums on his 91 civic lock, he hydroplanes, spins 3 times across 4 lanes of traffic and slams the wall with the side of the car, which rebounded him back across 4 lanes of traffic (spinning twice more) and he ended up backwards on an off ramp. where he promptly threw his tranny into reverse and rolled up the ramp, into a gas station.

if you had seen the car, you'd be suprised he walked away with nothing but a bruised ego

Slid the Diamante into a kerb on a wet road ( it was either slide sideways into the kerb or hit a tree head on, so i chose the kerb). Knocked the rear left tire clean off the rim, without damaging it, scratched bot left hand rims and fucked up one suspension bush. Could have been worse. Replaced the scratched rims with bald tyres with some 17"s with directional treads on them a couple days after that :)

when i was a driver, i had to take one of our other drivers to brown & brown (the big chevy dealer in my area) to pick up a vehicle from the parts department for window tinting. so i pull into the parking lot and go to park in front of shipping and recieving. then i start to get worried because im pressing on the brake pedal and nothing is happening. (i realaized a little later that i was actually hitting the accelerator instead of the brake.) so the parking spot has one of those little cement curb things and when i hit that my foot jammed down on the pedal and sent me right into the wall. now the building is made of sheet metal, but luckily there was a steel stairway right where i hit so i only went in about a foot or so. at this point fred and i jump out of the truck and run inside to see an old man laying on the floor about three or four feet from the stairway and rush over to him. we help him get up and ask if he is alright and he says yes, just a little hot from where his coffe spilled on him. (he had just barley filled a cup and leaned against the rail of the stairs when i hit and it knocked him over.) so next thing i know im talking with a police oficer outside the building when an ambulance pulls up and the medics go inside. im telling the cop my story when i see them pull the old man out on a stretcher and load him into the back of the ambulance. at that point im thinking im fucked, i just ran into a wall, and now ive killed this old man. luckily there was nothing wrong with him, and my companys insurance payed the 15+ grand to fix everything including the fucked up front end of the work truck, and the ambulance ride, because i miraculously passe a piss test

I'm sorry... I appear to be confused. How is the fact a vehicle ending up aquaplaning not the fault of the driver?

Aquaplaning is the result of some relatively simple physics... The speed of the vehicle, the dispersion rate of the tires (related to tread depth, width and tire design), the mass of the vehicle, suspension design of the vehicle and the depth of the water.

The driver should be aware of the prevailing road conditions, the capabilities of their vehicle and their own state/ability. If the vehicle ends up aqua-planing it's because the driver has failed to adequately assess the situation and is driving too fast for the conditions.

Incidentally, my worst accident was in a pelaton ie a bunch of riders in a cycling race. One rider near the front went down when we flying down a hill, moments later there were bodies and bikes distributed all over the tarmac.

I crashed my all-sacred VW Jetta into a pretty massive truck (Kind of like the ones that deliver Coke to the Uni) at about 60 km/h. Basically what happened was I was driving down the quiet little street of St Heliers Bay Rd, maintaining a safe following distance, when I was distracted by a Peugeot 10 S16 Rally car! Well, someone made a spontaneous turn into thier driveway and the truck stopped pretty hard.

Now naturally I wasn't paying attention and only noticed the truck 1 second before I hit it, so I doubt I slowed down much, if at all. Anyway the car took the impact beautifully, such an amazingly safe set of wheels, the Impact was centered in the front fascia of the car (where the headlights and grille are) and on the right side. The damage report was:

-1 Completely destroyed plastic grille
-The Badge fell out
-One headlight was destroyed completely
-The other headlight had the cover broken
-The Front right quarter panel was twisted at the front
-The plastic wheel arch guard fell off
-The Radiator was destroyed and coolant leaked over the undamaged bumper
-The upper part of the front end was pushed back a little
-The bonnet was bent back and the Intake pipe snapped.

Otherwise the car was fine and extremely repairable, but there were no headlights to be found for the car so we sold it off a Turners Damaged Auctions (BIG mistake, could have got 3 or 4 times more by parting it out) But there was still no damage that wasn't purely cosmetic (Aside from the Radiator) and the car's structure was completely undamaged, in fact the Windscreen was even untouched, amazing considering that all safety devices were over ridden when I hit the truck.

Basically only had 3rd party insurance, so couldn't claim on the car, but my parents bought me the Civic and transferred the ownership to me after I left secondary school and went to Uni. The Civic would fold up like paper in that kind of accident, so I'm glad I wasn't in that when I crashed.

OK people. For those who thought my story was BS!

I dont know too many people who have NOT tried to brake before their auto wreck or at least attempted to brake. My speed was 97, but I ATTEMPTED to brake before I hit.
