93 temp problem

coolant temp is running high but not overheating. will suddenley cool and then kick back up like a sticking thermostat. have replaced thermostat, water pump and pressure cap - coolant did not show any signs of rust when i drained the radiator to replace pump - but still having same problem. any ideas or recommendations please?
