Damn I'm being a thread monster today :p...my last one today I promise!

He calls it a DIY Cheap Ass Profec, but it is really more of a dual stage boost controller like the Turbo XS or Dejon.
Also worth looking at: DIY mbc

One of the best tutorials I've ever seen, great pics and clear explanation.
The only thing I'm wondering is what is the "solenoid" consisting of. I mean, I understand the notion of the switch with "on" meaning air is passing through and "off" as the valve being closed, but I am wondering what mechanism he uses the switch to control? The dual stage would be a fun project imo!

that is pretty fuckin rigged! it is also a pretty good explaination of how it all works.
a solenoid is just a valve that opens and closes with power on or off, there is no in between.

Yea I realize what a solenoid is...but where would I get one if I wanted to build this? I've never heard of anywhere that sells solenoids...?

Hmm it's the same principle as a valve opening and closing. But where would one get said solenoid for a boost controller application? I think I might've seen something about this on tuners, I'll check it out...
