Factory Alarm

I know my gsx has a factory alarm (it went off for no reason twice in the past 2 months) but when I bought it, It didnt come with a remote pad. My question is: How is the factory alarm? Like, is it pretty good for protection or do you think you'd reccomend buying a new one. Also, Where can I go get a stock remote pad for my car, and how much would I be charged?

the factory alarm is just an alarm. it doesn't do anything more than annoy the hell outta everybody.

you can get a pad from a dealer or possibly universal one from radio shack.

It's crap, just replace it with an aftermarket one

i didn't even bother to replace it. i just installed lo jack with early warning.

if i lock the doors with the switch on the handle and the doors are open, my factory will arm itself. same if i lock the doors with the key from the outside, just turn the key to the lock side twice. to disarm it or to stop the horn just unlock the drivers side door lock with the key. all i have is a sic engine kill system with a remote, and the factory is still avtive, i just don't arm it ever.
