Hatch side stripping?

How hard is it to take off the side stripping? Im talking about a 90 hatch here. When I bought my CRX, it was already off and everything, but for my friends car that im talkin her into buying, im going to paint her car for free, so I just dont want to go out and buy new clips for the side strip black stuff, and I dont want to tape it up either.

they all pop off besides the doors, they have one bolt on the outside lip of the door, pops off, more than likely the clips will stay in the door, just take them out and put them back on the moulding

no, more thaqn likely the clips will snap,when i had my 4th gen and removed the mouldings to shave them, almost every clip broke off, and i was gentle with them because a buddy needed them for his hatch

yeah he's right, the clips will break. the best thing to do is to remove the door cards(just a few crosshead screws) inside & put your hand through the holes in the back of the door and squeeze the clips from there, and dont forget the nut inside the edge of the doors, i think its a 10mm,,,,,,,,,,........

Hmmm the hatch has a wings west kit, with the door caps, so then it shouldnt have the the side stripping, correct?
