in my opinion, i think the 4th gen. ludes look better than the 5th gen. i don't know wich one is faster though. if one is faster it shouldn't be much.

Which looks better is a matter of opinion.

I like the 5th gen 97-01 preludes in terms of looks.

as for faster, the fastest is the JDM Prelude Type S with 220 HP.

in the US, the top of the line 4th generation prelude is the 94-96 VTEC model, which is rare and has 190 HP Stock. all 5th gen (97-01) preludes have 190-200 Approx HP Stock. and both trims aren't as rare as the 4th gen VTEC.

if you like the 5th gen's looks and speed, go for that :)

Out of the USDM Ludes, the 4th Gen 95 VTEC was the fastest, not to say the 5th gen ludes are far behind.

Its really a matter of preference, you can't really go wrong no matter which one you choose.

3rd gen baby!!!

its slower than the other two gens, but man, they are cheap, fun, easy to repair, and oh the originalty

and with the money you save on not buying the 5th gen, you can have 3rd gen running with them, if not faster. think of the sleeper appeal. :D

5th generation is the best, and a SLEEPER can be any car, whats the year and model of the car have to do with being a SLEEPER?

Can a Zonda be a sleeper?

4th gens are my personal favorite, but I haven't driven anything else, so I can't compare.

Like SiGNAL748 said... the 4th and 5th gens are pretty close as far as acceleration goes, so get the one that you think looks better

the head lights and tail lights are the exact opposite, 5th gen offers the sh with the better suspention option, more hp with 5th gen, i dont know if all 4th gen are vtec, all of the 5th gen are VTEC, automatic comes with sportshift for the 5th gen, i think the redline is higher as well in 5th as well

for the 4th gen there is the S model which has an f22 (2.2 sohc non-vtec), the Si model which has an h23 (2.3 dohc non-vtec), and the vtec model which has an h22 (2.2 dohc vtec)

well I been on a 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th GEN (driven 2nd,3rd,4th Gen's)till this day my OLD '94 Prelude VTEC is still the fastest car I ever driven...it had Wack..Intake and DC Headers....with 178k Miles (but the engine was rebuild at 150k) I didn't get to test drive the 5th Gen but I did get to hit in the VTEC and felt it a lot more and faster then I did on my OLD VTEC...(the 5th Gen had 48k miles)

About half as much, depending on condition and model.

Washington State. 1992 Prelude Si 4WS.

*Wheels not included.

I'm not really in the selling market right now, but if the price is high enough, I'll go for it. The car has 202k miles on it. :) Meticulously maintained. Everywhere I go, people can't believe it has 202k miles. Everything is in working order. AC blows cold. Mod list is on website.

If you have any more questions, let me know.

Thanks for killing my sale jerkass.. :twak:

Just kidding. The reason it is so high, as said earlier, is that I'm not really trying to sell it. The car runs like a top. It's the best transportation I've ever had, but like i said, everyone has a price. I'd probably take 5500-6000 for it though. :)

can anyone?

I'm working on it.. :naughty:
