neon lights

OK, my car looks original, no vinyl anything, no painted anything, hell, I don't even have a sticker on it. So I don't think that a blue neon kit would make it look ricey. What do you guys think? Does anyone have a kit on their car? Any problems with them?

hey now....maybe hes not retarded....hes just confused between ricer mods and good car mods. see...ricer mods are like neon lights and spinners that give you an extra 140 hp per wheel :)

I agree with u about the no neon part, but definetly not about the spinners those score a lot of points and guarantee to turn more heads than a spoiler or a neon kit

hey i also have a pair of neon lights on the bottom of my explorer and i am going to get spinning rims also. The neon lights are just cool. The only problem is that if you dont seal them they will rust out.. Just make sure you put silicone on the ends. Low glow is the way to go if your funds are limited but street glow are just made better.. Your choice.. i own both sets and its up to you. Camaro's sit low the ground and would break the tube if you drive wild like some people do.. It would be wasting money.. the other draw back... Check your local laws.. I keep getting pulled over in Iowa where i go to school at and back in INDY they dont care.. Rule of thumb make sure bulbs cant be seen at any angle.. good luck..

will soon come out of the closet.
when i was little i saw a 85-89
iroc, it was yellow, and had yellow
lights under it. i will never forget
how sharp it was. im going to
get a blue set for my z28 too.

A friend of mine put some neon lights under his dash and at night when they are on anything white glows like crazy. Its just kinda cool especially if you have white shoes or pants.

wow dude that color kicks ass. ha, i asked
the tacoma guys what they thought about
underglow lights under a tacoma and no reply.
what color would go with oak ? oak is like a
light gold, or metallic beige. so red or orange?

KaotiKCamaro5
05-27-2004, 11:19 PM
yeah, blacklights. im not a big fan of putting stuff on the inside of my car.. i used to have a couple neon lights inside, but they got to be a pain in the ass

If I were you I would'nt put neon lights on my car. Go ahead if you want. Camaro should be Orginal and Powerful, not Ghetto Fabalous.

i had a blacklight in mine, that's when my electrical problem began, so it became useless. I'd put the lights under my car tho, don't know which color tho

KaotiKCamaro5
05-27-2004, 11:26 PM
having neon lights is far from "ghetto fabalous" if you wanna see some of the Cadillacs and Cutlasses that roll down by the projects i can take ya down there sometime.. we can play some country music really loud with the windows down if you want..

do neons really look good on third gens? i have always thought that third gens may be too boxy for it, but if u can atest that they look good i may just look into them, after the paint job of course...

05-27-2004, 11:37 PM
i think they'd look ok

KaotiKCamaro5
05-27-2004, 11:39 PM
you dont need a paintjob.. i kindof like the "2-tone" paintjob you have now

Genopsyde
05-27-2004, 11:40 PM
nah, i'd go with one solid color, lose the red and go all primer.

tacoma man.
05-27-2004, 11:44 PM
...primer lol, they do look sharp, hell that was
the time when the neon lights came out.
i have a ruby set under my maroon rs, a blue
set under my silver ss. believe me, they
do turn people's heads when im cruising around
town.

Thanks guys, I wanted to be sure I wasn't the only Camaro owner that thought this would look cool. Alright, now for a follow up question. I was looking on were I could mount the side lights. There is a groove that starts a couple inches back from that metal tab and it runs pretty much down the whole side. It's an inch or two deep. If I screw into the outer wall of this groove, could I hit any wires or gas lines or anything else I wouldn't want to put a screw into. And for the back light, any suggestions? I was think on top of that metal plate over the license plate.

well u won't hit any fuel lines, fuel lines run along that upward hump in the middle of ur car where the driveshaft is. now wires... 4th gens have wires comin out the ass, no way for me to tell u if there are wires there...

I'm thinking about it when I get my tickets paid off LOL. No while im in wyo tech I'm going to trick my camaro out chrome the engine out paint the block and oil pain origial. Also brand new paint that is going to be perfect. What do u think of shaved handles? we are talking 1971 camaro

Hsmith117
05-28-2004, 01:18 PM
Im my opnion you shouldn't shave the emblems.. Unless youplan on replacing them with new ones. I seen a lot of people do that and stick on other models of there car to create an illsuion but if you know your cars you can tell from the hoax.. its up to you.. how come you want to shave them off. I basically seen it done on camrys then but lexus emblems on it.. lol

korndogg
