First time I played for 5 minutes then got too frustrated. Second time looked at it for a minute and figured it out.

I think I said it all in the previous thread (Taz's one) but Welcome back Warren y'bastard! As for the game, I haven't tried it due to the fact that I can't be arsed trying it.

"It had taken Dr. Duke well over a year himself, and he would always explain that the smarter you were, the longer it took to figure it out."
that said it took me like 2 or 3 tries

I must be a brain dead if it takes you longer the smarter you are hehe..i got it on the second try even though i was pretty sure what it was asking the first time .. i wish the SAT's were this easy :grinno:

I'm going to spoil the fun and give the answer...this is a simple trigometric equation using the 5 dice as lengths of the triangle legs or pedals as they call them..the first and second die are the first and second pedal and the next three are the last pedal or hyptenuse...apply Rose's theorom to your equation to find the radial vector..take this number and calculate the number of vectors circling this point in a two dimensional space and you have the number of pedals around the rose..its as easy as that..hope this helps :screwy:

I did not solve it, even after figuring out which singular outcomes were more significant then others.
I decided to just look up the answer, so I went to this page (http://www.enc.org/features/focus/archive/inquiry/document.shtm?input=FOC-000711-index), which gives a slightly more structured setup, and I figured out the solution by the time I'd read about a third of they way down the page.

man it took me a while to figure it out, and it was so damn easy and logical :p

That is so, so stupid!
Part of the problem with solving it is understanding it.
If you didn't know what a rose was, or what one looked like you would be stuffed, and even if you did, if your idea of what a rose is differs to creator of the games idea then your also stuffed.
I always thought a rose is surounded by petals, but after reading Jays post then it appears that it can be only half surrunded by petals as well.
It seems the problem deals with the ideal rose, and the imperfect rose.

I'm not sure how many tries it took me, I didn't answer the first few times, I just clicked "roll" and tried to correlate that answer to the dice. My problem was that it said a basic knowledge of math was needed...I think that statement was misleading, since the level of math is so low that the only people who couldn't do it are feral children. Last I checked, Mogli and Tarzan don't have internet connections. I was taking the root of the sum and other math that I thought was "basic". It took me three answers to get.

eh Me and my friend finally got it after 7 hours, well he did I just was like "oooooooooh" its so fn simple a 1 legged monkey could figure it out D=<. lol @ the longer it takes you the smarter you are yet I feel like an idiot.

(Sorry about that...)Took three tries.
"The longer it takes the smarter you are" sounds like the excuse of a man that took a year to figure this out...haha.

That "Rose's theorem" explaination was a joke...your way is the correct way to solve it. Indeed it isn't very "scientifical". Please edit out the method to solving this puzzle from your post, it would be a pity to spoil it for anyone else.

yeah.. the reason people who are 'smarter' have a trouble figuring out the solution is they try to use all these theroms and whatnot.
This is indeed a right-brain type problem, and anyone highly skilled in that area should have no problem at all.

its infuriating because its presented as mysterious and difficult.
once you realize its a trick, its easier to solve.
took me a half hour puzzling over that article, but once i played an online version of the game, it took all of 2 rolls.

this game was awsome, very addictive and challenging , you start to think so mathimatical and yet the answer makes you laugh. however the way i got it was completly different then the way everyone elsei know got it, noone else seems to have gotten it the way i did.took me 2 hours one day , then i gave up, came back and spent about 3 hrs today.. so, all good.. great game, dont spoil it, its awsome to see how other peoples minds try to wrap around it.
good luck peoples..

Well, ny biggest problem was the stupid articles. I would read the articles and really wasn't paying attention to the pics of the di, but then there wasn't always pics, they's just say an answer at some.
Finally I found a site in which I click "roll" and there were 5 di that changed and the comp told the answer and after I found that site, took no time at all...
