hey people whats up,
k i was driving my 92 sentra (non se-r) and i noticed that i am driving richly, now sometimes i hear kina like a BO BO BO sound from the muffler, like it misfires or something, i placed my spark plugs and does it rarely... i am thinking of putting a higherperformance ignition coil ??? or a msd 6 ??? what u think
P.S is there any way i can use my intake with out the MAS AIR FLOW SENSOR ????
please reply
92 sentra b13 ga16de. high performance fuel pump and injectors, and intake, higher performance fuel filter..

I believe the popping is called afterlighting, it's not harmful and it just kind of happens. The more you put on your car the more it happens, especially after header/exhaust, don't worry about it. And no you can't remove your MAF, if you do your car will shit a brick.

but when ever it happens it stutters and sometimes when i stopp at red light, the idle level drops and goes up then drops again .... what is it??

well if it stutters then something is wrong, maybe your car is misfiring or detonating?

yeah i guess it does misfire, when i replaced the fuel filter it was fine then a month later came back, i thought since i have a performance fuel pump and injectors that i need a performance fuel filter like AEM or something??? or a msd ??? what u think

I SOLVED IT, its because since i have a performance fuel pump and injectors i need a better fuel filter or else the stock gets cloged faster ........THANX THO

Sounds wrong to me as it sounds like only a temporary fix...
If you have a bigger flowing fuel pump and injectors, then your mixtures would be a lot richer, so unburnt fuel is making its way into your exhaust system. So maybe you need to get you emissions tested and make sure the fuel:air ratio is acceptable. Igniting fuel in your exhaust system is not good! The factory computer would be overfueling your car, especially at idle. Hence, causing your problems whenever you are pulling up to red lights. There is a way to modify the signal coming from the Mass Air Flow sensor to accomodate these mods but I would leave it up to a mechanic who has experience and the equipement to adjust these settings.

nah what happened is that, my stock fuel filter got clogged so the computer signaled for more fuel and when i press gas and forces all that fuel thru the filter, the sparks spark whatever it could making the rest of fuel leave richly........got me a performance fuel filter, all is nice !!!!!

What I am saying is that if you have higher flowing injectors and the fuel pump is pushing more fuel, then your computer is pulsing the injectors for longer than optimal. Hence, it may feel better but it would be wise to get the air:fuel mixtures checked and save yourself some $$ on fuel. The fuel pump / injector mods are normally reserved for highly modified engines (NOS, Turbo, Supercharged) who need more fuel high up in the rev range. Try going up a slight incline(hill) in 3rd gear about 1500rpm and putting your foot flat to the floor. If it is sluggish at all, the your mixtures are rich. Do this for too long at your catalytic converter will destroy its honeycomb mixture. But if your happy with it, then drive at your peril. Good luck.
