I bought a b18c5 motor for 4300 for my civic ex 99 and i was orignally going to go NA but thats just going to cost to much money and so i decided to go turbo with a 450hp kit from full-race.com. I was going to completly rebuild the block wiht rods, sleeves, head gasket, lower the comp porb to like 9.8.1 or something around there, run it with a hondata s200 and then eventually probably put a dart block if the orignal one blows, lol. But anyhow my goal was to beat z28s trans ams you know thos types of cars with v8s in them. so proably about 350 whp i wanted to produce. I also know i would have to do the ignition and fuel system. and i have a guy that would tune it in philly since i live in pittsburgh, and hes very well recommend. my question was is the turbo a good idea will it work if tuned properly with out any problems?

You can beat z28s and Trans Ams with WAY WAY LESS than 350 whp. They arent that fast low 14s to high 13s. If its tuned well the turbo will work well.

ya i know i could beat them with less then 350 whp i would prob need about 280whp to beat them.. i just had a goal of like 350-400 whp. i'm lookin to prob run about like 12-15psi, i was lookin on this site i cant remember the site name but it had a turboed b18c5 with 11.0.1 CR hittin like 600+hp on i think 18 psi. thats bad ass

Ya, like any mod if done right and tuned good it will run fine for you, and you shouldn't have any problems. with forged pistons and rods, and headgasket you should be abe to run 12-15psi pretty safely. Also look into your suspension. Alot of people forget that little part, and the power just makes their tires spin. And depending if you ever want to boost higher, and if you have the money, you could put in some new sleeves and close the deck, but for just 12-15psi that would not be nessissary, just if you want to boost higher
