fuel or electrical?

I have a stock 95 gt with 145k. Whenever i go to crank it after it sits for a while, i have to turn the key on and off a few times to prime fuel system, then it cranks up no prob. If i dont do that, then it turns for while before turning over. Also, one time when the fuel was low (near the E on gauge) but wasnt empty, it died on me, then wouldnt crank for a good 5-10 mins, then ran fine. Then the other day it "missed" a couple times on the interstate. I was doing about 70 or so, and it jumped, rpms down to 1k before they went back to normal, like i was out of gas for a sec, but i had half a tank. Anyways, im wondering if its the fuel pump or maybe something electrical. I already changed fuel filter, didnt help. I put in a bottle of the lucas lubricant and cleaner stuff, didnt help the starting problem. Also, can the fuel pressure be tested on start up? Basically, will you be able to tell if its the fuel pump that way? If its electrical, how do i test? Sorry this is so long, trying to think of everything so ya'll dont have to ask!

I think its the fuel pump. I have replaced fuel pumps in 3 cars in the past 2 days. 2 of them where in the tank, and thats what your sounds like. Maybe you have some unwanted resistance in a wire going to your elictric fuel pump causeing it not to prime the system good enough. Hard to tell until you drop the tank and pull the pump out. You can try the pump on the block if you want to see if that will fix your problem without having to drop the tank but I doubt it will, that is a mechanical pump which does not run until your engine is running since it is driven by the cam. My best bet is its your electric fuel pump mounted in the tank.

The fuel pump is a common problem. However, before you spend the time and money for that, put a new fuel filter in a see if that helps.

i already replaced the fuel filter. will testing the fuel pressure on start up work?

It might tell you a little but I dont think that will help much. Replace the fuel pump and your problem is solved. I think, sounds like fuel pump to me.
