Hi,
Have a Nissan Sentra GXE 1995 model.
Yesterday went to a auto-shop which specializes in Nissan and Toyotas.
I had gone to check out for couple of problems in my car
- When the AC is turned on , All the dash board lights come on and the car stalls. It happened at a traffic light once. But re-starting the car and pumping gas would at least start the stalled car...But the problem with the AC still remained.
- When the weather is hot outside say about 90+, the car will shiver when you switch the ignition off. Also when you turn the ignition on, the car will shiver. But it will still start and go on. Once the car started to shiver and all the dash board lights came on. I re-started the car and initially it shivered but it did start...
While diagonizing on the car, the mechanic checked the computer codes and it gave some faulty code on the IACV (Idle Air Control Valve).
The mechanic says that we need to change this IACV and this would take care of both the above problems.
I would like to have this Forum's members opinions about this ?
Any input/opinion is appreciated.
