The oil filter mounts on to a unit on the front of the motor. I understood this to be part of the Oil Pump. The seal between the part the filter screws on to and the engine block has a leak so I'm trying to get an new seal/gasket and then I'll fit it. Problem is I can't identify the part inthe partsamerica or autozone lists. Anyone tell me what the gasket I need would be called?

You will have to go to Ford for that seal. Autozone only carries high volume parts.

Sorry, I should have said you need the oil filter adapter gasket. This is the gasket between the front cover and the part that the oil filter screws onto. As I said I don't think you will be able to get it anywhere but Ford without buying a gasket set that would include the front cover gasket also. This is normally called a timing chain gasket set used when you have to replace a timing chain and gears.

Thanks - I still see it as wierd that partsamerica carry the timing chain cover gasket but not this one but at least I know what to look for
