New rx-7 owner

My friend just got a RX-7 and he uses my account on AF. He wants to make it faster it has a k/n intake full exhaust and headers. What else can he do? We know nothing about wankels.

Tell him to do as much reading and research on the net as possible. THEN ask questions.

1990 rx-7 gxl He wants it to be about 3000gt speed or more.

3000gt: weight is 3200
Base ohc - 161hp - 185 torque - 16.9 1/4
SL dohc - 220hp - 203 torque - 15.2 1/4
VR-4 - 320hp - 310 torque - 13.3 1/4

which one does he wanna be as fast as? hes already way faster then the base model, but the SL is about 9tenths faster, and you'll need a lot of work to catch a VR-4... anyways it would kill the base and SL on a road coarse, but prolly not the VR-4...

so if he wants to run with/beat an SL he needs about 190 horsepower and I'd say put on an exhaust to go with those headers and you should be close if not the same speed as the SL

What can I do to make it faster?

rebuild and get a large street port after hes got intake, and a full exhaust, then he could take out some sound deadening stuff or carpet to reduce weight if he wants.

if he wants to be really fast tell him to buy a turbo
