L47 Headers - Available?

Has anyone added P & P headers to their 4.0L Aurora engine (RPO L47)?
I have done some basic searches with nothing positive. Any thoughts? If I have to I may get custom ones built (granted its worth it). This of course after I do the enlarged 80mm TB and add a high flow cat converter.
What do you folks think?

Interesting news out of Bonneville camp, apparently INTENSE racing (home of the fastest track turbo GTP ([email protected] mph) and SSEi) has just purchased a 2004 Bonne GXP, so many we can start to get some impressive Northstar mods.
But ya, headers, LSD, strut bars, better suspension...its all goals I am working for ;)

What about the Accel coil packs, I can't remember the model number but would they actually work?

No, when it comes to coil packs, plugs, wires your best bet is to stay stock. AC Delco is your best bet for coil packs.

If you find a decent Delco supplier there isn't a lot of price difference anyway, at least for the coil packs.

ok where did you find that P&P headers, cause I can't seem to find that, and they make headers for the classic?
RoraStar96

No...Bullet, I want headers, I would like to get a kit for my car, but I am not having any luck at all.
Imagine how sweet the car would sound up front with a good set of P&P headers, along with the enlarged TB...better breathing in...better exhaust out...
I hope it doesnt become a pipe dream. :(
How bout strut bars? Anything cheaper the the million dollar RSM option?

yeah domestic performance is your best bet. maybe they're working on some, and they could use your aurora as a test vehicle.

I know Ty, he is a member at BonnevilleClub and CadillacForums. Good guy, I hope to hear back from him soon.
He was going to design a CAI for me, but couldnt find a wrecked Aurora in the Fresno area.
Gosh I would love some nice headers....HEY! will the 4.9L Northstar headers bolt up?

www.domesticperformance.com wants to build
headers for the Aurora. On domestic performance's
home page, there is a paragraph that says:
"Currently we have a need for a 93 - 2000 FWD
Cadillac, and 4.0L 95 - 2003 Aurora who is
interested in custom intake, and header product.
E-mail if interested."

I'd be impressed if they could make that happen. Have you the seen pipes on these things? The front pipe runs off the manifold and up between the tranny and motor.

Gonna reconsider a P and P of the stock headers at a local shop.
I'll let you know how it goes

one tip before adding power. upgrade stopping power. i destroyed my 95 dodge stealth twin turbo because of weak stock brakes. remember auroras are heavy mofos!

My slotted and cross drilled rotors with ceramic pads should do it. I don't want to convert to a big brake kit yet, we're only lookin at 50 HP increase if that...so, I'm not to worried.
I'm hoping to spend $600 bones for the headers, less if I P and P it :D

What do you mean by p and p, port and polish?
RoraStar96
06-04-2004, 04:39 PM
Yea, still doing some reasearch, but I assume the stock headers are cast iron, so a port and polish would be nice.

i might have to do something like that also how much hp? 50? or is that for new headers?
RoraStar96
06-06-2004, 10:13 PM
50HP I think is a bit high but 20 WHP is realistic for a header mod. My goal is 250whp (about 320HP at the crank)

I'd think 70 hp inc is doable. I wish it was affordable, like 20 or 30 bucks. I'm really impressed with the possibilities the aftermarket provides for these cars. It could be better but when I bought the car I expected it to be stuck stock. Need and interior kit. Maybe ACNA should try approaching that one.
