740iL E32 oil leak

HI eveyone .. ive recently purchased a 1994 740iL 180.000klm and had it all checked out prior to buying it .. got a clean bill of health .. Ive had it 6 weeks and i Now notice a oil dripping under the car on the Left side it looks like its some sort of hydolic fluid .. IT also appears it coming from higher up from under and around the abs brakes and master cylinder.. its not brake fluid though.. the chassis besidethe motor is damp from this oil on this side of the car. Ive had the motor running .. pressed brakes several times, also turned wheels to see if its comming from the power steering area, but does nto appear to be so. Ill take it to my local BMW dealer ,,, BUT was hopingto get an insight to possible problems before i go or if its something i can do myself id do that ..

the hydraulic hoses from the reservior to pump and steering box are the most common and a real pain to replace......sorry for the news.....be sure they know WHICH one is leaking!

I seem to have the same problem on my 1994 740i.my leak is exactly the same as yours..I first thought it was the hydraulic reservoir because the hoses were covered in oil so i had all four hoses changed.. i picked up the car and drove it around and there was no leaks..so i took it home..I Was feeling pretty good so while iwas on the freeway i opened her up and as i was pulling off i noticed i had some white smoke coming from the left side.long story short.I only seem to get the leak under full throttle.normal driving there are no leaks.so i don't think that if the dealer wants to change your hydraulic hoses that it will fix the problem.the car only leaks under full throttle.if you find something that may help would appreciate
