VW help

Hey i was wondering if any one knows anything about swapping a 1.8t engine into a golf, my buddy wants to do it in his golf that way he can upgrade the components and so on.....anyways how much will the swap cost? (without labour) is it worth it to swap and than upgrade components? Would it be more worth it jus to get a turbo kit.....any input would b much appreciated
