1990 300ZX N/A Questions

Hey,I have a few questions about the 1990 300ZX. Im thinking of buying one (N/A not the turbo) but I have a few things I need to keep in mind. I need it as a everyday driver, and I will need to drive it during the winter (I live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and if you dont know, we get a lot of snow). So my question is, is it reliable enough to be an everyday driver and how does it handle in the snow?

rear wheel is terrible in the snow since u live in calgary it will not be a wise descision for a fun car ya prolly one of the best but for everyday no way man i live in chicago and i wouldnt be able to do it either

my a is a daily driver and i love every minute of it. it is possible to drive it in the snow, just a lot harder than other cars. good thing my mom is keeping my old car for the winter.

Its not so much that RWD is horrible in the snow becuase of that (you just got to think ahead a little more on the snow) but all those ponies through the rears aren't going to help you much. So yeah, probably not a good idea for a daily driver in a place where you are going to have alot of snow.

But if you want to buy one for a few months this summer and then off load it before the heavy rain and the snow (I live in Western Washington, US, not alot of snow but enough rain to spin out a tank), that would make for some great memories to get you through winter.

Just buy a 4x4 and invest all of the cash and make a 100k and move to a warmer climate :D

Does all the 300zx has t-tops?

i have to agree with all the above. i live near chicago. i have a 90 NA. not only do u not want to try drivin it on the snow but mine dont even want to start in the cold.

Yes, excluding slicktops and convertabals (SP?)

Does it have a sun roof or anything...doesn't look like it but hard to tell.


I don't know about the slicktop thing...unless you were racing at a track...not like you would be enjoying the open air too much then, got other things at hand :)

nope, no sunroof. Ive never really cared aboud riding with top down or tops off or sunroof open or whatever, so i like it

I've always liked the open air thing I think it adds alot to the car, and taking the inserts out and just having the glass above you on a nice night is cool. Mostly chicks dig it :)

i was about to buy a slicktop (it was black, she was so sexy). but then i took it for a test drive and the engine had a small knocking, the interior was in shitty condition, and the speedometer didn't even work. i would of bought her and fixed her up but don't have the money for that right now.

^ It was in Wichita right? Thats the car i have now. When I bought it the guy told me that someone had come from KC to test drive it. They fixed the speedometer for free and the interior isnt that bad IMO, just a rip on the drivers seat near the seat belt.

Sick as hell. Looks like my car kinda, except mines deffinately a T-Tops, and have black powder coated stock alloys... I love my car :D

i just read your post "harder" and yeah it is the same one because the one i looked at did have a rip on the drivers seat. but does it still have a little knocking noise i heard when i looked at it?
