Engine Seized!

I was driving my 1996 Explorer when i turned into a flooded parking lot and drowned my engine. I figured i just wet the solenoid. After about 1 day i tried to start it. All i heard was the starter realay click. I took out the starter and replaced it with a new one and it still only clicks. I bought a brand new battery to no avail. I bought new spark plugs and i also blew compressed air into the engine incase I had water in my valves. Some water came out but I don't think it was enough to bend a piston rod. I figured either the TR (Transmission Range) sensor is out or my engine is seized but I don't how to free a seized engine on an automatic transmission explorer. If anybody has any other ideas on what it could be or can tell me where to put the breaker bar to manually move the crankshaft I would greatly appreciate it.

Carpe Diem, sieze the day!!! You can try and turn the crankshaft with a large socket and a breaker bar on the pulley bolt. If you find it's not siezed and still won't start, transmission range sensor is the next place to look.

When I tried to turn the pulley with a breaker bar. There was so musch force on the bar that it literally sheared in two. And of course the engine did not turn. I guess I really messed it up this time. If any one has any suggestions I would deeply appreciate it.

Engine is definitely seized. I am having trouble turning the crankshaft. It won't turn at all. Instead it just breaks my tools. Is it possible that I did bend a rod?
If I did: How much would it cost to fix professionally?

where the plugs out when you tried to turn the crank with the breaker bar, did you try rocking the bar back and forth.

it dosn,t take muck water to bent rods only enough to fill top of cylider, water dosn't compress.

if you bent a rod you might as well get a used or rebuilt motor

read your ordeal , sounds interesting. have you tried putting the transmission in neutral and then turning the crankshaft.

I tried cranking the engine in Neutral in Park etc... The Spark Plugs were out and I did rock it. We decided to extract the engine and rebuild it ourselves. While we were rebuilding it we ran into a lot of snags. My engine is so old that many parts needed replacement anyway. However we have succeeded in removing the engine. But I now have one last favor to ask all of you. How do you take out warped bolts from the exhaust manifold on a 4.0L Liter Pushrod V6. Thanks in advance and I have appreciated all your help.

Don't know of any special technique. You could try lubing them with some Kano Labs Kroil Oil, wd40, or even water! Then try rocking them in and out. If you break one off you'll need an easy-out set. Which bolts are you trying to remove...do they go all the way through? If you can see the other end you might be able to use an easy-out and remove them through the opposite side, ie. unscrew them the same direction as you would tighten them, only from the other end...after you cut off the head. These are just a few of the methods I have used. Good lucl.

After about a two months of work i finally got the car back on the road. You shoul have seen the piston when i opened up the engine. This throw of the crankshaft struck the piston and shatter the piston into over 5 pieces. I needed an entirely new engine. Thanks for the help by all of you who replied, but now i need your help once again. After i got the engine in I started experiencing all sorts of electrical problems. Please read my new thread "Big Radio Problems" for further details.
