We have had a problem with our 2001 GMC Jimmy for about 6 weeks now...at first we got the code for the secondary air pump and now that is fixed...then afterwards we would drive down the road and all of the sudden the Jimmy would sputter and stall but we get no codes...after some help (THANKS MERLIN :) ) we have changed the fuel filter and the fuel pump...things have gotten better but my other half sat in the Jimmy letting it idle and no problem but then he would hold it at 2,500 RPM's and it would start to sputter but then quits sputtering ...this goes on until we turned the engine off...I got in it on monday (had to go to work) and i have not had a problem for the past 2 days but my other half says that it will happen again soon... :banghead: I am so frustrated because we have only had it for about 2.5 months and I love to drive it and I miss it besides it is really bad to have a vehicle make payments on it but cannot drive it...The dealer has "NO IDEA" (GO FIGURE)
just wondering if maybe someone else might have an idea or two....
thanks for all you help guys and gals....

your valves may be sticking, I had the same problem right before one of the valves stuck. I had it fixed for about 800 bucks but there may be contributing factors to that so my mechanic siad and ended up costing me 1900 in total. but it runs like a champ now.

Try a different dealer, Computer reprograming should be covered under the OBII warrinty. Still sounds like a fuel problem.

We have had a new computer put into it per dealer...and it has fixed the problem of stalling and sputtering...now it says a bad o2 sensor and the spendometer is wacky and the abs and brake light come on so the daler says speed sensor??? does this sound right???
