Manual Boost Controller

Does it pay to increase the stock turbos to 15PSI? I am planning on installing a fixed boost controller to max out at 15PSI. Am I gaining anything and do I increase wear/tear on engine? Thanks!

you will increase wear and tear, thats just a giving. but first do you have a boost gauge(not your stock gauge that thing is useless) and then don't go past 15psi thats pushing it, i don't think its a good idea to just always be on 15psi, which is why i got the profec. but thats all on you. again if you don't have one get a boost gauge!

yea, i wanted to get a boost controller 2, but you can set it so u can have it on stock, and turn it up when you want to right?

just buy a proboost $18 mbc and a $30 boost gauge, i wouldnt turn it past 14.5 psi, but have fun, and yes it does make enough of a difference to invest $48 dollars into

14.5 psi is the way to go. Anything higher will result in 2 things
1. Your y-pipe will blow off, you will hear a thunk under your hood, your car will die and you will have to pull over, luckily it is an easy fix with a screwdriver, you just have to reattach it.
2. You will get knock and destroy your pistons if you boost past 15psi without the correct supporting mods. So 14.5 is the safe way to go. If you gut your precats, get a downpipe, boost controller, boost gauge(aftermarket), and intake that will put you around 400hp and you'll be running 12.8ish.

u can prolly get those at any speed shop right, the boost controller right, and also, im looking into one of those greddy electronic boost controls athta is like a mounted computer on ur dash, have any of u seen those?? i also wanna get a K&N cold air intake, u guys got any good links whre i could find those things?

Well if you just want the K&N FIPK(essentially a Filter and mounting bracket) it is one of the more common intakes. But it is really expensive(close to 200). If you want it new, check out www.3sxperformance.com My suggestion, would be 1 of 3 things:
1) Buy a cheaper version, such as the 3sx one
2) Go hear or 3si.org and find a person who is upgrading their intake to the LS6 or LS1 MAFT and selling their old intake(as I plan to be, but not for some time)
3) Go big, and spend 375 or whatever it is and get the ls6 MAFT. It will give you alot more bang for your buck.
