first gen vs srt-4

this takes place about 10pm and just cruising around pull up to a light look around to find myself all alone in the middle lane. waiting for the light to turn. then two cars pull up, one on the left and one on the right. I glance to the right first it was a civic coupe, I say to my self this is going to be by, then I look to my left and to my excitment it was a silver srt4 now were talking. he notices my car but not the civic on my left. the light on the other side begins to turn yellow and the srt starts to creep up a little and im like wtf is this guy doing. I stay were im at and idle my car at 2500 and hes still creeping up by this time his fourth door is up to my bumper and the lights turn green we hit it, he automatically gets a car head start just from hi creeping and then after first I hit second and to my amazment I was still at his back bumper, after second then going to third still NO GAIN :eek7: we shut down and the civic flys past us. he pulls up to me and says when are you going to turbo charge that thing in a cocky tone and I say not going to running stock motor he just nods his head and takes off to chase the civic I quit and turn. those things are fast stock though

You seem suprised you didnt gain on him...Good run though, the civic probably thought he won :lol2:

be more careful now....after reading the types of cars peolpe have these days, especially with the types of jobs teens can have, I'm alwayas being a bit hesitant as to race someone now :grinno:

Hmm i'm actually surprised he didn't wax you. I mean you run a 14.5 sec. 1/4 mile versus an SRT-4's 14 flat 1/4 mile. Anyways, good run.

I still dont say you ran a 14.5 at 90mph unless you were on slicks with a great launch.

did you use a gtech to get that time?

gtechs can be accurate, but you need a flat road, no dips or nothing. I've seen a few people use them and then go to the track same time. You have to know the weight of you car.

The time i used a gtech said my 0-60 was 5.9 and my 1/4 mile 14.5 @ 95, course my timing in my car was all messed up at the time. I don't think I was running a 14.5 though. I raced a few cars that were very damn well capable of 14's and left them.

I've noticed a few cocky SRT4 owners.. guess they're in every crowd, good run.

Yeah the g-tech is somewhat accurate. I used it once on my 3gen lude. It was pretty close to my time At the track I did 15.7 at 88mph and on the g-tech I did a 16.1. Basically what I am saying is that it will be off some no by much though!

Its kind of hard to find SRT4s where I live. The only times that I "think" I see one is when its an average Neon with a kit and that same wing made to look like one and I hate that. It gives them attention that I dont mean to give them, lol. :sly:
