Hey there,
I need help asap if anyones willing to help me. My boyfriend has an impreza and doesn't know much about the engine side of things.
Aparently the clutch has gone, thats what I can make out so far, he says that theres either something wrong with the 'bearing in the drive crank' or something wrong with the 'cam.'
I don't know if anyone will have a clue about what Im trying to describe but we just need to no how serious it is and a guide on what to do an how much it might cost, so far we've been told it could cost between £500 - £1000.
I dont get to check on here very often so It'd be good if you could e-mail me: [email protected] with 'Impreza' in the subject heading.
Thanks loads in advance for anyones help. :iceslolan

well, so far we have 3 different areas of the engine...which is it?
For the cam to be gone, the timing would be off.
I hate to hear what the cost would be if an engine bearing has gone.
Clutch is the most likely, provided it's a manual, and Impreza's can go through clutches.

that sucks, those clutches don't have throw out bearings, so maybe they mean pilot bearing?
Does it make any funny noises?

What exactly is it doing? What are the "symptoms"?
