Since there are no posts here I'm assuming that no one on the site is familiar with this fine automobile . . .

I've only seen a couple. They are some strange cars with their wooden chassis and pneumatic seats.

I've seen a number of them, from the early trikes to the later Rover and Ford engined versions. They're known for their ash frames and "sliding-pillar" front suspension. In the late 1970s and early 1980s, they couldn't pass American emissions so the importer took the innovative move to convert them to propane power and get around all gasoline emissions laws. Later models would "piggy back" the certifications for Land Rover models and use the Rover 3.9L V8. There are two distributors in the United States for these cars and they are discussing the importation of the new Morgan model...featuring an aluminum frame.

No just the framework for the body; the "frame" as you know it is metal, never fear. All car bodies were once made this way, Morgan simply never abandoned the technique.

In a UK magazine, one advertiser for Morgan stuff shows a line drawing of a Morgan panel truck. Soooo cute! I wonder if there ever was such a thing.

Never driven, or even been in, a Morgan -- but my wife has had a ride in a Plus Eight. I'm so jealous.

Greetings Gentlemen!

As you can see I'm new here. I just ran across this forum by sheer chance. It's hard to believe there's actually a forum for Morgans. But there sure isn't much info here. Hopefully that will change.

I used to work in an import garage where we worked on only British cars, and we had the occasional Morgan come in. They're very unique and interesting cars. I haven't seen one in over 30 years now, but I've always wanted one. Very hard to find, and they've become extremely expensive. Oh well, maybe in my next life.

My father has a 1984 Morgan +8...it is a great car...very unique. With the light weight and that Rover V8 it really moves too! Since a lot of people here don't know what they are here's a picture of one...

One of my instructors was talking about having a "Morgan Miner" or somesuch and he got a ticket for going too slow. What is it and what's it look like?

That would be a Morris Minor. No connection to Morgan.

Slow moving thread? or just the same rate as Morgan handbuilding their cars? :D

yes every Morgan is handbuilt, so they don't make too many each year.
There's a worldwide waiting list of 2-7 YEARS after ordering with deposit.

Grew up with Morgans in the family and they are interesting beasts to work on,
mixture of oldschool engineering (sliding pillar front suspension?) and
innovative touches (onboard chassis lubrication system!).

Current cars have all the modcons you'd like, even AIRCON option on V6.
But modernisation has its price.... lately i hear the factory has supply trouble
with their airbags, so production has slowed even more.
