goo gone or just soap and water will take off the residue. Just requires a little elbow grease.

i used body oil my girl gave me from Avon it removes tar as well go-figure
just be careful not to scratch up the car dont press to hard

I used Isopropyl alcohol to remove the adhesive residue. Do not use acetate.
