does anyone know how far you can go with a NA b series engine?

yes it is a everyday driving car...money is no object right now...i have a b16b engine.

Just wondering would I get enough power to do a constant high 12's to mid 13's on a quarter mile with a full cabin worth of stuff

anyways... you can build it crazy, and you would have to if you didnt pull everything out...
that isnt a matter of power, more a matter of power to weight ratios... if you drop weight, you dont HAVE TO build it as much... so if you lose some weight, you can have a more reliably built street motor...

but if you are going for broke... get some TODA vtec killer cams...

dont ask what they are, go to their site and read about em, or check out backissues of super street for the n/a 11sec non vtec b16 civic from signal auto...

i got my motor shipped to inline pro and they swapped out my old ex engine and put in my b16b

I was thinking of either jun3s or crower 402 or 403. but first i was gonna get the type r crankshaft with new rods...staying with my ctr pistons..
Also I was wondering if i get a 70mm throttle, would it help alot?

how dangerous is 12.5 compression? and should i get a new ecu like hondata before converting to 1.8L?

why n/a?????????? n/a street hondas are for commuting. Turbo charge that motor and u will run low 12s

I doubt that there would be any benefit to getting anything larger than a 64 mm throttle body. As for 12's to mid 13's with full interior... hmm, that might be close. Most of the 12-sec B series powered Civics I have seen underwent a serious weight reduction program first. Mid 13's are attainable, but I'd say good-bye to the back seat and other superfluous items to break into the 12's. Remember that the fastest NA Honda is a STRIPPED CRX with a 2.5-liter H22A running something like 16:1 compression, and it only runs about a 10.69 :eek: All motor is a tough route, far as I'm concerned.

Go for a B20B block and use your B16B crank in there.

Then get some 11.1:1 (highest for streetcar) pistons and so forth.

I wouldn't go higher than 11.1:1 on a car running 93 octane.

You'll hit at least 13s with a well-tuned motor and if you drive good. (among some weight lightening and tires...u know the works)

Plus..you don't have to go in a straight line.

A 13 sec. Civic could MURDER a 10 sec. Civic in the twisties.
