Yesterday Was Track Day Yet Again....

I was totally focused on Sunday like all week…I started doing little things to tweak my motor to give me a little bit of an edge over the other guys up here I took out my headlight for “direct flow” to my SR intake (advice from jukebox guys) I tightened my throttle cable to ensure wot was actually wot (it was slack as hell before) I took out the back bin and also ran on radials…My times improved drastically (keep in mind it’s a 1000ft track) my best time before was a 12.428 with a 1.246 rt. and a 2.258 60ft on street tires. Yesterday my fastest run was a 12.000 with a 0.957 rt. 2.150 60ft and a trap mph of 94.1 all on yokahama drag radials. I beat my boy in the prelude he was getting really low about it though he was talking about how I got lucky and I wasn’t supposed to beat him because the radials weren’t mine and because he ran off the road because his cell phone dropped and the charger wire supposedly wrapped around the stick in that race I ran a 12.133 and he ran a 12.936… he was so mad about it he didn’t even stay to hang out afterwards I guess since he’s been on top for the past 2 events he felt bad that I beat him…next week is another event though so we’ll have to see if I get lucky again…
I ran 3 times yesterday my fastest rt. was .873 fastest 60ft was 2.081 fastest trap mph was 94.3 and fastest run 12.000….I’ll try to get either the tape hosted or the slips scanned because I know someone isn’t going to believe me…. :screwy:

Hahaha...I believe you man. T

hose are pretty good times I guess..but its hard to make a mental calculation on where you would be in a 1/4 mile track. Improving .4 seconds is pretty good, youll keep improving, not as drastic as .4 seconds but maybe 2 or 3 tenths more.

Your Reaction Times are pretty bad. If your just dumping the clutch at certian Rpms, youre reaction shouldnt be that bad. Even if your feathering the clutch (the way to go) which is a little harder.

My reaction times now are very constant, ranging in the .580 - .680, out of 10 runs I get 9 of them in that zone.

Have you tried my launching technique man? We have the same engine and ive tried MANY different ways and im sure thats the best way if you wanna go fast. Feather the clutch at the 6400-6800 rpm range, release it semi fast so only the tires chirp, spin once or something and your off smoothly.

Congrats and keep going to the track and getting better.

Ok your not trying to diss but you use the word horrible to describe my times...hmmm okay watever....that was the second time I ever used drag radials at the track and the first time I used them the fastest 60ft I could pull off was a 2.2 and Sunday I pulled a 2.0...I see it as improvement if you don't you can take your two tenths of a second and stick em up your ass...oh no hard feelings huh...im not trying to diss

umm, he wasn't dissing you, you need to calm down a bit. His just stating that you need to work on your 60ft and your launching. If you can't take some criticizing don't post your times

...LoL...Mex ya sounded a bit sarcastic there...Yeah its a RWD V6 "supercar" thats supposed to beat me no matter what but that car is sh*t he's been runnin that car over here from the time when our track was just one straight road with a person in the middle to start the race(about 3 - 4 yrs ago)...so between being an old car its also been through lots of abuse which is why its pretty much now dead and retired....

No man, I was not being sarcastic. I just said it in a prideful way, seeing how a little honda fwd with a little engine can take other bigger tougher rearwheel drive cars.

No sarcasm. Just pride in my fellow Honda maniacs.
