not sure but in defence of 4 cyl cars. my neighbour has built a 1985 civic that does 12sec quarter. non turbo 1.6 vtec but stripped the shell so it is only just road legal. no v8 or wrx will run him at the drags. it looks like a shitbox but it moves. this guy is a cop too!

well that helps none but yes v8's will eat that up, and a wrx is a 4 also

If you wanna talk about cars, why not head over to the HONDA forum, I think they'll enjoy a story like yours.

Two parts to do this
1. A spark resister - so after you rev the bike and you click a button, the cylinders no longer fire, but are still spinning so gas and air gets directly pushed into the exhaust.
2. Additional spark plug and coil - sparkplug gets drilled into your exhaust, then when you press the button to fire the coil, you get flames out your exhaust.

Any V8? Most stock V8s are WEAK in the quarter. I see v8s get beaten on a daily basis by i4s. Also your thread is pointless. What the hell does it have to do with bikes other than the fact that YES your car will get murdered by a bike.

Stock I4 bike > any modded V8

hey skuby. don't dis Acca Dacca man, its a top aussie band. i'm sure a band like Poison would be more appropriate. oh sh1t. i'm sure this will offend someone but i have a pretty bad sense of humor. oh yeah and i'm sorry to take away from the original thread question, but it was fun.
at least R1 answered it properly anyway.

R1 Rider> is there any chance of this running back into the cylinders? or will the air keep it moving out instead of in?

i was thinking of another way to do what Import Killer asked;
what if valve timing was changed so the intake opens earlier while exhaust is open and allows a fraction of fuel to pass through and onto the hot exhaust? if this is possible, im guessing you'd also have to get some kind of fuel management system to squirt some extra fuel to compensate for the wasted fraction???

Doesn't really matter... Import Killer was banned at some point in time. He might have a hard time reading this thread.

well yes thats true but im actually interested to see if my theory is possible, just for myself... i dont particularly care for import killer :D

Ah, I see.

Wouldn't it be easier to make an entirely separate system of some other flammable material instead of using the gas your car needs?

I wonder why he got banned.

yes true indeed, but im not really interested in doing it, im just testing my mechanical knowledge and want to know if my theory is a correct way (even if it may be expensive and hard for the average jo) :D

a little shitty are we. the way you suggested would make the bike run like shit in normal conditions and backfire shitloads

hrmm.... would it?? *waits for more opinions*

would it run like shit if it had enough extra fuel pumped in to equal out?

Do NOT adjust your valve timing.. To Make "COOL" Flames.. and no It will not go back into the cylinder The gases will already be at to high a velocity to do this..

didnt i already post that? i love em, thank you very much :D rubbed a s-load of leather conditioner into em too......

TurboR6, i didnt want to fkn know that, i wanted to know if it was MECHANICALLY POSSIBLE to do so, even if it is a stupid, time wasting, unpracticle way of doing so..

but thanks anyway.. im not stupid enough to want sick flames

aussieidiot
09-01-2004, 03:57 PM
i know you posted that you love them but i was wondering how the conditioner worked out. if you did already post that then i wasn't paying attention buy you get that. don't forget i'm old

Yes it actually is possible for the flame to go back into the engine. Seen it happen before, and heard many other stories of it happening. You can't ignite the spark when the engine is simply idleing. You need to rev the engine up, then as the RPM's are coming back down, hit the switch for the flames (not for too long though).

By the way, I'm not looking to argue with anyone--everyone else seems to be doing just fine at that!

speaking of honda, i got told not to go for kawasaki because the parts are more expensive... he told me honda was the way to go.. is this true blayne? (unbiased opinion only!)

aussieidiot
09-06-2004, 05:32 PM
wouldn't have a clue. honda car parts are renown to be expensive but i think you'll find it varies between parts. eg oil filters may be more on a kawa but farings will be cheaper. this was an example only and i'm not saying this is exactly correct, so no "very incorrect" posts please.

seriously though, go with the bike you want. on going costs are a pain but at least you be on the ride you want. i'd be willing to pay for a ducati if i could afford it

Too New To Know
09-07-2004, 05:26 AM
yeah thats true :)

theres no real 250 that totally takes my fancy, but the 91 gsx across is seemingly cheap compared to the others, so it'll probably be my choice..
