Man i used to have so much respect for cops. I still do for some but these damn cops around me are d*cks. I got a $400 fine for having an illegal car on the road. I have LED blue sidemarker lights and LED Windshield washer lights and they call that an illegal car to drive on the road!!! what the hell!!!! I mean come on, why cant people do little things to there car to make them look better. its not like i had something that would be dangerous to the other drivers. They arent that bright that it would blind someone. GOD I HATE THEM!!!!! Anyone else get pulled over for something so incredibly stupid????

Yea, $130 fine for underground neon lights.
Paid it all because the cops have one talen: eat donuts and drink coffee.
One advice, don't attach any NEON or bluish lights to your car because cops don't like them. Why? THey say it catches attention from other drivers, making them dangerous. Lame laws....

Wow, that sucks, I have blue reverse lights on my Accord. They are only one when I reverse but if a cop saw them I wouldn't want to pay 400 so I think I'll take them out tomorrow :alien:
Just follow 1 simple rule, No Blue, Red, Yellow on your car and you should be fine.
I have EuroClear corners on my car and I was turning on a road where a cop was waiting to turn and he said he couldn't see my blinkers so he told me that my car was illegal, gave me a warning and left. haha
It also depends on the cop and if he's had a shitty day, I used to have purple neons under my car and a cop stopped me, and told me that my neons were A DIRIVITIVE of BLUE!! At the time I had a blue neon in my car, I was like this is blue, and this is purple... any questions??
He gave me a ticket, I took it to court and won. Stupid Cop didn't even show up.

Yeah im def. taking mine to court. Im not paying $400 for stupid lights. I'm just ganna rewire my side markers to go on when i turn my turn signals on so its not like im driving with them on all the time. See what happens. It sucks so much, they are d*cks. Why cant they just get outta the years they grew up in and get into the new century's. its such bull.

If I were you, I wouldn't take it to court. Chances are you'll lose. Blue lights are illegal no matter how you slice it. You basically have no chance to win. Pay the 400, change the color and be done with it.

Don't pay it first.
Unless it will cost you more if you lose your case.
Otherwise take pictures and your strongest argument.
Be nice to the traffic Court Judge and take your best shot, he may throw it out.
Also take pictures of your conversion back to whatever they think is legal and show him that you are trying to abide by the law and ask him (if this is a justifiable fine for the infraction?), which is a simple fix.
Changing light bulbs shouldn't cost $400.00.

I can't believe that the cop didn't give you just a fix it ticket. Most cops that pull people over for the blue side marker lights just got fix-it tickets. Different states different laws I guess.
Never put blue lights on your car bad idea. Also I have seen people that made there wiper fluid lights flash with there alarm that way its not on when you use your signals. I think out here its ok to have the wiper fluid lights as long as they are yellow, becasue there are some older cars that had this on there cars stock from the factory.
If you do take it to court you will have to show pictures of before and after. That is the only way I think that you can get it off in court, that and ask the cop to be there and if the cop doesn't show then you get it off your record. NO matter what make a copy of your ticket before you send it in. Sometimes they call the ticket something that it wasn't and your insurance company will wonder what it is. This shouldn't make your insurance go up because it wasn't anything that insurance companys care about, they are just lights not speeding.

its so stupid, i cant believe cops gatta be so gay about that stuff. I mean just because nowadays its neon lighting, LED's, and 18" rims, they gatta be dicks about it. Its just like what they did when they were kids but a new generation of stuff. I mean its so stupid. They need to give up on the stupid stuff and start cutting down on the major stuff, like driving w/o license, insurance, speeding, not lighting, expecially if its not something thats like a big distraction like something that would flicker. if it just stays on all the time it shouldnt be bothered with.

speakin of the "five o", me and my buddy were cruisin home from one of the local shops when we saw the poe.......we were headin down the road, goin to my neighborhood, hes sittin in a convenient store parking lot and turns out goin the opposite way. then he sees my friends car, 97 prelude full grounddesigns black widow kit with an apexi N1 catback and a bunch of other mods. Im in front of my friend and with both of our exhausts its pretty loud, so of course the cop is a little suspicious. he pulls a u-turn in the middle of the intersection and hauls a$$ to catch up, and then follows into my neigborhood. he said that he was goin 53 in a 35, which was impossible if he was following me and i was only goin 40. somethin else that is even more bullsh!t is that fact that he was a dick. my friend was born here, but he has an asian background and the cop was askin him if he had bombs and grenades in his car, or any guns. he also asked what his parents did and other stupid sh!t. it pisses me off so much. hes gonna take it to court and appeal the ticket, b/c there is no way that the cop had clear sight when he radared, and there were other cars around, so he could have picked up one of them. oh well, we'll see what happens

man thats wrong. cops have issues. they need to get a life and do there REAL job not be out for teens thinking there always up to something. there are more serious issues that they need to be worrying about than kids and hooked up cars. if they arent causing a disturbance or doing anything illegal, just let them go. let us know the outcome of the ticket. do you have a court date set yet??? My court date is set for January 24.

my friend's court date is february 4th, but the cop never said how much the ticket was for and he didn't check off the box that says you must appear in court. but thats besides the point. the cop has some serious issues and needs to be notified of them. my friend's parents filed a complaint today for racial profiling b/c of some of the questions he asked. one of them i forgot to mention in my first post, well i mentioned half of it, was "what do your parents do, they must be pretty rich to be able to get you such a nice car." this is bullsh!t b/c my friend is payin for all his sh!t. i'm hopin that i can be a witness or some sh!t like that, b/c i was listening to everything. well anyway, ill keep ya guys/girls updated with how everything goes.

Thats wrong, i dont mean to sound like the cop, but most of the people who look out of the country all have the nice cars. atleast around me they do. They have the ferrari's, caddi's, vettes, mustang Cobra's, GT's, i mean its just wrong that a cop would make that remark. i would go to all limits on that cop. You guys can get him into relaly deep sh*t. and i hope you guys do. good luck with everything

Here's a good one for you!! Got pulled over for doing 65 in a 45 in get this a mazda 323!?!?!? hahaha But besides that I got the speeding ticket and then he wrote me a one for "INVALIDE ADDRESS ON LICENSE!!" My address changed twice in the 6 months prior to that and I was fixing to turn 21... I was waiting so I could chang the address and the UNDER 21 on there at the same time but he had to be a butt any way!! oh yeah!! he also give me a ticket fro no proof of insurance because all I had was the temp card... He didn't believe me that the insurance comp messed up the VIN on the new cards they sent and din't send a new temp card too replace them!! But that one got dropped because I could prove that I had insurance at the time he pulled me over!! :sun:

I had some blue turn signals on my 99 accord and they were on there for like half a year. Now i live in Georgia and have no problem with them at all but durring the week I go up to Clemso, SC for college and on night i got in late and was driving to the lot to park and was turning and had to wait for the car coming my way before I could go. Well i put on my turn light and as the car was passing I noticed that it was the CLEMSON cops. Well i looked back as I was turning and he had slamed on his brakes and I knew something was up. So i hurried to find a parking spot, which isn't easy todo at that time of night. So i find a spot and get out and start walking back. As im walking a cop SLOWLY passes me and looks me down, i just keep walking and the cop puls into the row(out of 15 he could have went to) where my car is, and stops...where my car is. Now I walkl just a little farther and another cop comes around the corner. He does the same thing to me just that right after he passes me he stops and calls me over to him.......
He was like what car do u drive what color is it and o yeah do u have blue turn signals. So i said i did, knowing that the other cop was right at my car, and he was like "get in the car" well i went back and sure enough the other cop was out with his flashlight looking EVERYWHERE on my car. They gave me alot of crap about the laws and shit and how they needed to be changed....well atleast i didnt get a ticket but i liked my lights.......o well i just picked some hood lights up....he he he..... http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/275245MyCar1.JPG

That sucks, i just got my clear corners and bumpers in and i got the blue turn signal lights and the hyper white corner lights. so far i havent had a problem with them. i hope i dont either. i dont wanna take them out. i love the looks to them. They shouldnt worry about these things, there only lite up when your turning. its not like there on all the time. i hate these things. they need to get rid of the d*cks. bring in the young cops. every cop that is young that has seen me with my blue LED windshield washer lights havent done nor said a thing to me. its the older cops that are the a$$holes about these things.

does she live in atlanta too or does she live in another state? i only ask about another state because you said she goes to college so maybe shes going to a different college than you. but uyeah i dont know why some cops care and some dont. i mean my blue windshield washer lights are REALLY bright. i've seen some poeples who were pretty dull. but mine are really bright. and i've had cops turn in front of me, sit across the street from me at lights and they havent done anything about them to me yet. but who knows. there just d*cks with no life.

naw she lives in Ga i go home on the weekends to spend time with her and my baby girl, Kayla. I too have very bright hood lights and havent installed them yet because i dunno what the cops will say, how did you wire up your hood lights cuz the ones i got just have jap. writing on it and i was wanting to wire them to my turn lights but want to make sure how to do it before i try.

i've seen some cars with them hooked up to the turn signals and i personally didnt like them. i just hooked them up to a light up switch i bought from Pep Boys. you need a ground wire (black) from your battery or any place on your chasis that has ground. Then you need a positive wire (red) from your battery or cd player or any positive wire in your car. Thats basically all you need unless your going to use the light up switch. if you are, then your going to have to send the main positive wire from your battery or wherever to the middle plug on the switch, then the red wire from the lights to the positive plug on the switch. i then believe you hook both the ground wires from the lights and the battery/chasis to the last plug on the switch. its a lot easier to wire up if you dont use the light up switch. mine came with an all black switch but i didnt really want it because i was really paranoid when i first got them with the cops and all, so i would like to see where the switch is at to turn it off real quickly, but since the cops dont bother me with them.... i dont bother, i really dont know where the switch is at anyway, its prolly somewhere under my seat. but if you need any more directions tell me. that should be all you need to know though.

As you can see I've got the red squirters. Don't know if there will be a problem with the cops until I get pulled over. Many infractions come about when the cop feels like he's not being paid attention to. So whatever the charge complain to the judge you come out way ahead of the Creeps On Patrol Squad.]:bandit:

i dont think the windshield squirter lights are illegal. i drove by a cop tonight with mine on, he just kept driving. i talked to one of my friends, he said they arent totally bright enough to be illegal, but i still think there supposed to be illegal. maybe the cop i drove by was a young guy. they usually dont have problems with those things. but whatever, who knows. im glad though.

Hey would it be possible to wire the hood lights to both your turn signals and a switch so when you want them on they r on and when you have your turn signals on they blink too but when they r off and your turn signals are on they will not com on. I have a switch for my neon loghts inside under my dash and would like to have them hooked with them.....wonder if it can be done....

yeah its possible, you just have to make sure that you make that switch the main circuit for your lights. im not sure how to do it, but im like really sure its possible.

i didnt want to believe that you could get a ticket for having blue neons. but i got a ticket not too long ago for having them. they said that it was only for official/emergency vehicles only. i asked why and he said that other drivers may think you are a cop or ambulance. in my head i was thinking, how many cops on the streets have blue underbody neons and how many honda accord ambulances are driving around as well. well i guess its just another way of the state getting hard earned money they did not earn.
