I found an engine block behind my friends house... whats the easiest way to figure out what kind it is.... chevy 350, 400, Found On Road Dead..... etc....

look on the block for any lettering. chevy blocks have "GM" written on the manifold next to the firing order and i think it's also on the back of the block behind the head. also look for distributer location. chevy blocks have the distributer in the back, fords are in the front i think, or atleast on some of em. alot of mopars have the distributer in the front but it sits sideways. or post some pics of it

yup fords are in the front, and if you dont see any markings on the block pull the valve cover, and look on the heads

hmmm, well then i guess they used fords, i knew it was either gm or ford
